How long does it take to tour the Museum, and can we get there from the cruise port?
it is about an hour. they have a wonderful audio tour. I would check out uber from the cruiseport. we flew to Amsterdam. they have 24 ..48 or 72 hour..I love Amsterdam passes that include a canal tour, bus, and museum admission
I’d suggest planning for 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending if they have a special exhibition going (2 hours if they do have one). Don’t know about cruise port access.
I agree that a visit to this museum, you can enjoy about up to 2 hours depending on how you partake of the demonstrations, exhibitions and audio guide. It is walkable from the cruise port in central Amsterdam and about 20 minutes. I wouldn't suggest car service but try the trams - they are easy to use.
Yes Uber works in Amsterdam
No more than an hour.
I think 45 minutes to one hour is sufficient time. You could do it in 1/2 hour, but you would be rushing a bit. It is not a long walk from the port but it is uphill, about 20 minutes if I remember correctly. There is a tram that would take you up the hill if needed.
I’m not sure where the cruise port is located, however, there is great transportation and google maps will tell you what transportation to take. As far as the museum, it’s a personal tour with audio, so it depends on you. A quick tour would be 45 minutes. If you participate in the demonstrations on how they made the paints and the use of the printing machine plan on 90-120 minutes. As I said, it’s controlled by you. It’s well worth the time. Enjoy!
you can get there from cruise port with some walking. Masterdam is great for walking
If you have limited time you might want to take a taxi or Uber. I’m not sure how far away the cruise ports are. I’d plan on 1 1/2 to 2 hours especially if you are there when one of the demonstrations- mixing paint which is fascinating or lithography.
To add clarity - for example on their website now, I see an exhibit about Rembrandt/Paris starts on 21 September. Anytime they have an exhibition like that in their museum portion (which you’ll reach naturally upon finishing the “house” portion), then I suggest to add another 30 minutes to your plans. So it would be 60-90 for house + 30 museum (you may split it up differently), totaling 90-120 minutes. Enjoy!
It will take an between hour and hour and 30 minutes depending on the crowds. Depending on the time you shave when you get to the cruise port, it’s a short lovely walk from the cruise port where you can admire the city , and once you go under the bridge and it’s a short walk to central station and you can do the hop off hop on boats or take the tram to Rembrandt house. And depending on when you get over there, the market is a cool place to stroll thru when your done.
Plan on at least 90 minutes. So much to take in knowing that many of these rooms appear in his works. Can’t answer about the cruise port because we were settled into a hotel by the time we visited.
