Museum Het Rembrandthuis (Rembrandt House) Questions & Answers

Los Angeles, California

Hi all,

Do you recommend that we book the tickets in advance? Are the line and the queue crazy long like Ann Frank's and Van Gogh? Wanted to see I can purchase the Rembrandt House the day of instead of buying in advance since we are not sure about our schedule. Thanks in advance for your tip!

You should be absolutely fine, especially if you go in the morning. The big hitters take pre-planning but these gems are pretty much walk in without too much queueing. This does depend on whether you come at peak holiday time. The audio guide is worth it too and it really helps to bring a day in the life of Rembrandt to life. Check when the printing and paint demonstrations are they are excellent too.

We walked right in when we went to visit the Rembrandt House! I don't think it'll be an issue. Get the headphones with the walking tour.

No need to purchase ticket in advance... Even though it was on a Sun that we visited there were no more than half a dozen people in line in front of us... Hope this helps!

You do not need to book Rembrandt Huis in advance. It's not a major attraction. It was interesting, but I would only go using the Iamsterdam City Card for free entrance. Definitely not worth 13euro.

We had no line at all there - only a handful of tourists when we were there. I doubt it attracts the same kind of crowds as Frank or museums. Btw we had a nice snack afterwards next door at the "Rembrandt Cafe."

If you buy the IAmsterdam card, you get into Rembrandt house (and other attractions) for free, as well as free tram or bus service. Very convenient. Doesn't work with Anne Frank house, so those you should buy weeks in advance.

No need to book in advance for the Rembrandt House Museum. It's a rather cramped lobby/gift shop area, so it may be crowded, but there's no need to buy in advance.

I purchased my tickets on line the day I decided to go.

I'm kinda like you. I don't like to stick to a strict schedule.

You really should buy the tickets in advance. The lines get really long for Anne Frank. Go first thing in the morning so you can have the rest if your day for sightseeing.

Not necessary to book in advance! We just arrived and went straight in, it was busy but comfortable to walk around at your own pace.
