I'm visiting Amsterdam in September and plan to visit the Rembrandt House. Can you tell me about how long you need at the museum? Would it be more than 2 hours? We are also going to the Van Gogh museum that day and would like to plan accordingly.
1 hour should be fine but if you are the kind of person who likes to read the exhibit descriptions plan for a longer visit. Try the free audio tour it's worth every penny! ;) Also, this museum is free as part of the "I Amsterdam" passes which I highly recommend. This museum might be a bit of a let down if you have to pay the full entrance fee...
If you are love art and history, like I do, you might spend 2 hours at the museum to view all the art and articles on display. The other factor would be the crowds making it more time consuming to view items on display.
60/90 minutes will be good for Rembrandt House. Purchase tickets for Van Gogh museum ahead of time to avoid lines
I agree, about 1 hour for the Rembrandt House. My husband waited for me outside. Get early to the see Van Gogh as the queues can be long. Check the opening times for each day as they might close early on Sunday's Have a great time
45min-60min, is plenty. Small, but well worth the visit.
In my opinion one art exhibition a day is more efficient. To really enjoy it, do something else the day you visit one of the museums. Rembrand's house as some nice activities as printing, color making and so, it takes at least 2 & a half hours. It's not near the van goch museum. Van goch museum has lots & lots of paintings & data and takes even more. Both of the museums worth the visit. Hope I helped you. Have a nice trip.
Yes you can easily do Rembrant house in two hours
Go late to the Van Gough museum and miss the crowds
2hrs is plenty, which is what we roughly spent in there. We got there early doors so it was fairly quiet, but passed it later on and it was quite busy, so that should be taken into account. Enjoy, I absolutely loved it in there, it gave such a sense of scale seeing the sleeping areas, and being able imagine the stunning artworks he created in the very spot you're standing!
2 hours is plenty time for both museums. Van Gogh might have more crowds so best to go early or later in day.
Hi Claudia. I visited the Rembrandt House. It was beautiful and interesting but about an hour should do it I would think. Hope that helps.
We spent a little over two hours at the Rembrandt House, but quite a bit of that was watching an interesting video of some of Rembrandt's most famous works. You do want to see and do the demonstrations that are scheduled during the day
We were not that impressed with the Rembrandt House. You can see it in 2 hours for sure. Be sure to book Van Gogh in advance or use the Museumkaart as it gets very crowded.
2 hrs are sufficient; ENJOY
by the way; a suggestion for dinner - Seasons
We spent around three hour there. comfortably seeing everything. There is audio in all languages , that has commentary on the displays. For the true enthuses of art there is an amazing display of paintings on the walls from artist of the world. We didn't listen to the audio for the painting other than Rembrandt's work. You could easily spent half a day or more if you where to listen to it all. One great aspect of the Rembrandt house is you can log on to the special website once you visit so you can return to the house via the web and revisit the things you saw and even better the ones you didn't or may have missed. Enjoy your visit to Amsterdam
You would be able to do it comfortable in 2 hours however please allow about 1/2 a day for the Van Gogh museum as it is well worth the visit
The Rembrandt wouldn't take more than 2 hours. It's fast and really interesting. The Van Gogh Museum takes an morning or an afternoon to be seen properly. The VG's has HUGE lines, so buy your ticket online and book in advance, so when you get there, go straigh to the entrance and brace yourself: the new exibition is beautiful!
