Did you use the audio tour?
The pictures of Colonna Palazzo look almost the same as this Pamphilj Palazzo. Did you choose between them? Or?
I did use audio tour
Palazzo doria pamphiji was recommended by hotel desk and i was not disappointed
Lots of time to enjoy
Villa borghesse was not available for another week
It all turned out v v well
We attended the evening outdoor opera at the Palazzo Pamphilj. It did come with a short guided tour to the top floor. Well worth the price of the ticket. We enjoyed the evening immensely and I highly recommend it. We got the cheap seats which were only 4 rows back!
We actually attended an opera at the Pallazzo and had a private tour after the concert. We chose this concert fro the Internet and it was fantastic intimate and romantics.
We used the audiotour it is great, narrated by the owner. We did bot choise but went directky to this splendid palazzo
Hi. My decision to visit the place was not based on the exhibit, it was much more a decision to see one of the galeries with the paintings on the ceiling. I'm afraid my knowledge is not that advanced so I cannot help you here.
I indeed used the audio tour, which goes through a couple of paintings and statues here and there. It describes the paintings and why the family bought it etc but I cannot specifically remember any parallel with another collection.
The audio tour comes with the very reasonable entry fee of 12 euros and is really good - the current owner with an excellent tour and family memories as well- many of the pictures numbered have a great back story - we loved it
Didn't visit palazzo pamphili - think it is their country place ?
Yes, we each had our own audio tour and it worked well as we spent more time on different things and weren't always near each other.
The palazzo in question was the Doria Pamphillij and the audio guide is excellent
No, I didn't. I expect this would add to the time taken to go around, though.
We did not do the audio tour.
So far I've found out that Pamphilj and Colonna are family names; that Palazzo Pamphilj is 6 or so blocks from Palazzo Colonna; that a Colonna family descendant built Pamphilj in the Baroque era whereas Colonna was started in the 13th century and remodeled over 500 years.
The Palazzo Colonna is only open Sat. 9-1 and the Palazzo Pamphilj is open daily.
They both have a Hall of Mirrors and wonderful art.
