I am planning to stay at this hotel in Sept ... any recommendations for requesting a room on a higher floor. I have heard that the rooms can be noisy due to noise from the trains.
Are there places nearby where I can have dinner? Any logistics would help ...
I stayed in a room across the street from the lobby - part of the hotel. Didn't experience any train noise. St. George's Tavern has good food. Very near the hotel around the corner and up the street. Go downstairs to eat - it's noisy and crowded on the ground floor at the bar. My granddaughter and I had dinner there three times in our five days in London. It's that good.
It is true the hotel is right next to a train station. But I can't remember a lot of noise, to be honest. I don't think a higher floor will make a lot of difference, better simply as for a room on the 'other side' of the hotel.
The little map provided with this hotel on this site already has dining option listed .... no worries about that ..
