Hi I'm coming next month with my baby and 9 year old. Would it be easier and cheaper to use uber rather than tube or bus to visit attractions like sea life?
Apologies for the late reply. I've been travelling. I would use an ordinary London black taxi. Reliable and worth it. But if you have the time, London buses are great. And you get to see the city en route.
I don't have a car seat will they still take me?
tube n bus will be cheaper and the tube station is just down the road from the hotel. but uber might be easier for you with the kids x
My parents will be there 2 they are elderly. Will taxis do lifts with no car seat and carry us all? How many buses would I need to reach sea life?
hi not sure about uber but we found the buses easy to use and you get to see more and is quicker because of bus lanes you can just use your debit card to swipe when you get on
Much cheaper to use tube as £6.60 for day if in zone 1 & 2 which this hotel is and most attractions are. No charge for baby and no charge on tube for 5 - 10 year olds - though you need a card. However may be easier in a taxi
Best to use a contactless debit or credit card on the tube as the cost of your journeys is capped for the whole day at £6.60 (slightly more out of zones 1&2) but if there's three of you, including a baby, may be it would be cheaper and much easier to use a taxi.
We are old people with bus passes. However buses are slow through the centre of London. The tube runs at a consistent rate - get an Oyster card (Google Oyster card if you know nothing about it). We did not use any taxis and may not comment on them.
There is a very good live butterfly exhibition in a warm white tent outside the south of the Natural History Museum at a very reasonable price and the ticket lets you jump the queue for the Museum. Look out for the Atlas moths - they are huge.
I think that über would be better since you will have the baby and all the time and all the things that go with baby to contend with.
Cheaper, maybe not, but not much in it. The convenience of getting an uber would be worth it just on convenience, particularly if you have a baby and 9 yr old. I got an uber yesterday from Vauxhall to Clapham junction (approx 3 miles) for £5.
