Tree parking on the other side of the park / reserve, in the dip. I have parked there before, but beware, it's an uphill climb and quite steep in some cases.

If you are there all day it's not expensive but we only stayed an hour. There was no option to pay less.

Please note that, although my comment ended with a question mark, it was not a question. It was a reply to someone who wrote that the parking is expensive. It is not expensive, furthermore, it's free for members of the National Trust and (I've been told) for those who eat in the pub. The least expensive parking in Brighton is £1.50 and hour, and Devil's Dyke is not somewhere that you want to go for a short walk.
