QE Park is not far from downtown. All traffic dependent. If by car, the drive is about 10-15 minutes. 20-25 with traffic. By bus, just about the same.
About 4 or 5 km
Thanks everyone...I will add this in my itinerary.
Located in South Vancouver , I visited the Park with a friend in his car , but if you look on the map , I believe , that it is located a bit North of 41 st . avenue . Not hard to miss , unless you try hard to! Good Luck and have a fun time .
If you are going with children, be sure to take them to the conservatory - there are always 2for1 or other discounted entry fees available. My grad daughters (8 and 12) love it there - as well as tropical frees and flowers, they have free-flying birds and small animals, and they provide a treasure hunt map with a prize if you find everything. A fun and educational way to spend about an hour.
Seasons in the Park is a lovely restaurant but quite pricey especially if you have children with you. We usually take a picnic.
You can also get there on the Canada Line, getting off at either the King Edward or Oakridge-41 Ave. stops and walking a short distance along Cambie. That is how we got there on this latest trip.
It's maybe 15 to 20 minutes (on a bad day) driving away from downtown but it is still vancouver proper.
QE Park is kind of in the centre of the city. It is not far from downtown, at all. By car, it is about 15 minutes. Have a wander at the park and follow it by lunch at Seasons in the Park (restaurant there). QE Park is the highest point of the city, so you get nice views from the park & restaurant.
