There are several beaches within easy reach. Your villa has lovely views of one of them, San San Beach and of Princess Nina’s Island which is just in deon of our Almond Tree overlook. If you are a good swimmer, and bring along your snorkels and fins, you can swim out to the island which has a tiny, perfect white sand beach. You can also visit it by fisherman’s canoe from the Blue Lagoon: - agree your rate before setting out! San San beach is the closest, and has the warmest water, but beach maintenance can be iffy.
Frenchman’s Cove is about 5 minutes further on than San San beach, and is well maintained and quite a spectacularly beautiful small beach with a lazy white sand river flowing into it, and lush vegetation. There is also a beach restaurant for lunch. There is an entry charge for both these beaches. A little further away (about 10 mi utes by taxi) is a lovely public beach called Winnifred’s. It is maintained by the locals and there is no charge, but you may be asked politely for a contribution towards beach maintenance to which I usually contribute about $10 for a car, not per person. You can buy lunch from Cynthia’s. There is also Boston Beach, for surf and very clean water - because it’s always moving, but don’t go on a weekend when there is likely to be a deafening party. A public beach but there is a minimal charge nowadays.. then there’s Long Bay, Reach Falls (not to be missed) and Rafting on the Rio Grande on a bamboo raft - lunch can be pre- ordered from Belinda on one of the river banks -bamboo covered hills, and swim behind your raft when you like..
