Hi, staying here in a few weeks a few quick questions:
* When on premise will I need to keep cash on me for drinks at the pool or can pretty much everything be charged to the room?
* At the casino can I play with USD or does money need to be converted?
* I'm with a group of adults (no kids) and tips on which pools/bars to use? Its a short trip so I'm trying to avoid figuring it out as I go along :-)
We put everything on our room and paid up when we checked out with our credit card. The casino uses US $$.
All the bars are basically the same. At the beach, happy hour is a great deal.
If you want to tip the people handing out towels, you need some cash, same for the bell hops.
casino takes USD and has an ATM on site. Cash is good to have for tips, etc. plus some of the cabs seem to only take cash.
Good news here: you can charge everything at the pool to your room, so there’s no need for cash. In the casino, play to your heart’s delight with the USD. As a matter of fact, when we would visit the shops and vendors off-property, we only use the USD. As for the pools, you have an adults-only option...but I liked the swim up bar at the primary pool. Have a great time in Aruba!
You don't need cash in the hotel. Everything can be charged to your room.
USD is the main $$
All the pools are wonderful
While on property you can change to your room including tips at restaurants, bars, gift shops. Also a nice Marriott benefit is that you can charge to your room at the adjacent Marriott Ocean club and Marriott Surf club, eliminating the need to carry cash. You room card will not work for the beach vendors, such as float rentals, water sports, etc.
The casino accepts US dollars. As does mostly every business.
Both pools are excellent. The main pool is the liveliest with entertainment and a swim up bar. The adult pool is quieter.
FYI, taxi service prices to and from the airport are set prices and could run around $25 dollars US to the Marriott. We usually add a tip. The staff at the Marriott are excellent and tips for Bellman, etc in US dollars.
Have fun, use sunscreen.
Usdollars only in casino. Can charge any pool beach activities to the room. There are several pools abd there is an adult pool only. There is starbucks on premises. Dont rent a car -- cabs are cheap. Appx $25 to hotel from airport. Safe travels.
I love kids and traveled with my older children but the swim up pool is crazy with unsupervised children. But that was in the summer and the kids would all be in school now (hopefully). Otherwise if you’re with all adults I would just hang on the beach and order drinks. The service is wonderful. Try the local beer (Belashi). It was great to drink in the heat. USD is accepted everywhere. The casino was a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and spend that money at the inside bar!
You can use USD at the casino. We never brought money or cards, you can charge everything to your room.
The palapas are the way to go! The main pool has a swim up bar, which was nice. Happy Hour happens a couple times a day. It's a nice resort you can't really go wrong.
All US dollars. No problem anywhere in Aruba. Great spot.
Thanks for reaching out. You can charge everything to your room by just signing when you order. We loved the bar at the pool because sometimes they have two-for-one special's and they make really nice strong drinks. We ordered food twice at the pool bar and they brought us a double order. It was super nice - we loved at this hotel have fun! We didn't spend a lot of time the casino so I can't answer that question.
