We are planning a trip in late July. We will have 8 in our group 4 adults, my husband and myself, my parents and our 4 kids from 10years old to 14. I really want to find a cabin to stay in but I don’t want to drive a long way to get places. We are planning on riding bikes, white water rafting, hiking and anything else we can explore. I am looking for suggestions on where to stay.
I would look at the KOA between the park and Columbia Falls. You would be very close to the West Glacier entrance (10-15 minutes at most). We did not stay there but they have cabins that look very nice. Montana Rafting Company is also nearby to set you up with other activities.
If you are asking about inside the park itself that may be a tall order. GT has tent cabins that you could group together, but then you have to walk to the bathroom and that could be difficult with seniors or young children. In addition, the cabins at GT are usually twos beds, so even having both sides of a duplex would cover half your group. A possible option is getting 3-4 cabins, all immediately near each other and asking for rollaways to fill in as necessary. But, as I said, options in the park are minimal.
