Hi all - we are travelling there this month with our three year old. We are going half board so breakfast and dinner taken care of (and thought we could just do whatever for lunch - we have a family room so hopefully we can go to the store (is there one nearby?!!) and get stuff for sandwiches etc. What do people think we will need for spending money? WE are there just 5 days - I planned to take 400 euro. Thanks in advance
I would guess 400€ will be enough and there is a row of ships restaurants and bars opposite the hotel including small supermarkets. Failing that Alcibiades is a bus/taxi ride away! Lots of folk were there with very young children! It’s a great hotel by the way! Sorry if my reply was too late for your trip
Hi, there are shops, restaurants and a 'SPA' type store opposite the hotel; Alcudia town is a 15 minute, cheap, bus ride away where there are smaller cafes and more shops. I guess, with a 3year old you won't be drinking too much alcohol at lunch so 400 euros will do but not much left over to buy some of the pretty clothes around.
There are several small grocery stores nearby and some larger ones that are a short bus ride or longer walk away. If you need to get transportation to the hotel out of your 400 euros, you'll want more. It's approximately an hour from airport to hotel (you can take a bus to and from Palma (not sure if it goes all the way to the airport). There are also several nearby restaurants if you don't want to fix lunch in. (I thought the hotel meals were good with a good selection ... as I recall except for coffee/tea beverages were extra cost at the hotel).
Is 400 euros enough? We all spend differently so that's hard to answer. Spain isn't an expensive country. I was there for 2 weeks bicycling, other than bicycling specific stuff I certainly spent well under 50 euros per day (for one person).
There is a small supermarket right across the street. I stayed in a family room as well but there was no area to cook or anything like that.
You will pay 15 euros per day if you want to go to the beach and get two sunbeds (worth it, but you should get there before 11am...at least during high season everything was full by then).
If you are only planning on staying at the hotel and no extra activities, then I'd say 400 euros is totally fine (not including airport transfer that you can book directly with the hotel)
