Hi - we are looking to do a trip through this area next year, but as my wife got pretty bad altitude sickness in Tibet she has some concerns that she will experiance this again, Does anyone have any comments in relation to altitude sickness while on the Pass. Thanks in advance. Cheers Phil S.
Hi - many thanks for that.
My wife and I had no problem. But if she is prone to altitude sickness, she will probably suffer at Torugart, it's 12300 ft. And you're likely to be there for an extended period of time, since the border routine is grueling. If you go, take the altitude sickness meds for a couple of days before you get there.
