Kantary Bay, Phuket Questions & Answers

Gosport, United Kingdom

I’m traveling on the 22nd of this month (December)

What is the best way to exchange sterling to baht?

ATM in Thailand or sterling in cash at the airport exchange bureau in Bangkok or Phuket for the best deal?

I’m asking this as the rates are real bad at the moment.

Change 100 in the U.K. just to cover transfer and first day essentials. If you come out kid the hotel turn right and walk about 200 yards. On the right hand side up a few steps is a exchange booth. Like other answers you will get a better rate than in the U.K. also, try and avoid atms. As you get the exchange rate set by the U.K. banks and can be quite costly. Hope this helps.

We were there 15th- 29th Nov. There are a couple of exchange booths within walking distance of the hotel. We got a rate of approx 42 baht to the £ which was better than the uk.
