Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our personal cruise experience on the Regal Princess was nothing short of fantastic. I am surprised by the some of the poor reviews here. The ship is older but beautiful! So clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and have a smile on their faces all the time; they always offer to help you and ask if there's anything they can do to make your cruise better. So many activities onboard! We enjoyed the trivia contests, Voice of the ocean singing contest, the pianist Mr. Jax in various lounges and bars. The Asian Soul band is fantastic! Every show in the Princess Main Theater was fabulous - the Bravo show, the Lionel Ritchie tribute, the Vegas Magic show, the Broadway dance show - all were fun and entertaining! They have a behind the scenes kitchen/galley tour which was very informative. Food in main dining rooms was good to excellent, but the waitstaff is the BEST - professional, efficient and friendly. Buffet had a vast selection of cuisines and quite good as far as cruise buffets go. Do not miss the Pizza by the poolside - the "best pizza on the seas" per USA today, and I can attest this is true! Cute little ice cream station by the poolside is great as well. International Cafe with 24/7 food was convenient and offerings were delicious. Ports were the typical cruise ports and we had a nice time in every one of them. Costa Maya we went to an all inclusive beach resort - Pez Quadro - very clean facilities, beautiful and shaded beach beds, nice beach. Honduras we hired a personal tour guide and we saw the sloth and monkey sanctuary, rum factory, chocolate factory and the West Bay beach - all fantastic. Belize we went on the Princess excursion to the Altun Ha Mayan ruins with a very friendly & knowledgeable tour guide, comfortable air conditioned buses - we learned so much about the culture and felt very safe during the entire tour. Cozumel we did another Princess excursion to Dolphinaris where we swam with the dolphins - very highly recommend this! Dolphinaris Cozumel is gorgeous and the dolphins look very happy healthy and well taken cared of. Facility is gorgeous and food and drinks were outstanding. Our stateroom was always clean, organized and had plenty of clean linens/towels - we had the best stateroom attendant (Jobert Escalante) on A512! Embarkation and debarkation was a breeze! No issues and fast. I think your experience depends on the mindset that you have going into it. We thoroughly loved the Regal Princess and hope you do too!

Excellent trip on the Princess Regal. The ship had tons of fun activities, great food choices, super cocktails. Our steward was on top of keeping our room clean and was very nice. YES... tip them!!!!! We had full package and we do tip!!!! The comedian on the boat was exceptional, an illusionist, silent disco... excursions were amazing. We did a 3 part excursion in Roatan that was awesome; animal sanctuary, ziplining and snorkeling AND lunch included; Christopher Tours.

I lost five pounds on this cruise. The food was inedible most nights. The beds were very comfortable the staff was great. Some were snappy in buffet. The shore excursions were horrible. Belize and Honduras are the second and third largest reefs in the world and at both places they took us to a dead Barrier Reef to snorkel saw no fish. The only snorkel excursions available. I love doing games and activities on the ship and they were non existent compared to the 9 other cruises i have been on Room was dated. Balcony was fine. Bad odor coming from the shower drain the last few days. This was my first time on Princess. Not impressed

They coined this cruise the love boat but it's far from that. I felt like I was in an old folks home with southern hill billy population. It's like sailing on a boat with old people and hill billes comparing who's got the biggest walker or truck nuts. It is not a cruise for the younger generation and certainly not for a person that is liberal. I felt I was trying so hard not to offend a trump supporter, because the atmosphere felt like a right wing convention. The onboard entertainment especially the comedian is far from funny has a southern accent and the jokes are just too unfamiliar to the vast majority. The Dj is trying so hard to fit his music to the various taste shifting from country line dance to high energy house. The disconnect of music entertainment carries to club 6 convoluted no fixed genre for the evening. The live band performance is great the staff tries very hard. I have made friends with several staff members they made the experience for me. The lgbtq plus meet and greet seemed like they wanted to have it but tried so hard to mask it. No host, no introduction for the lgbtq, nothing and when I did stumble upon it nothing jump out saying hey we are the group. All we saw was 6 people talking with each other not caring who else is in the group. It must be the most off putting display of your not part of our group. Family members and friends made my trip if not for them I would of jumped overboard. The love boat hardly, I wanted to make a connection with another lgbtq person it seemed like a needle in a hat stack the only love I got was the vodka tonic I had in hand every night of the week. Some guest were very friendly while others tend to look down on you as if you were trash, this is from the southern American guest. Then in the alegro they need to remove that stupid round curtain group table for the so called special people wanting attention. I'd replace that with an led curtain showing videos of scenery. If princess is to compete with virgin and carnival they need to look at these observation otherwise they'll end up like the cast of the original love boat a fading memory. If you're into gold and marbe and geriatrics with hill billy flair then it's for you but like I said my group made my trip but you may not be so lucky.

Recommend not to go on this ship if you're used to a nice stateroom. Our suite is ridiculously small. I can't imagine being here for the next 5 days. We paid almost 4k for a 6 days cruise from Galveston. Don't recommend it!
