It will be a loss if someone visits Edirne and doesn't go to this health museum. For me it is mandatory and the only one in universe. The museum is amazing, it has many rooms exhibiting the medical practices in the Ottoman period. The medical students, the classroom, the library, "laboratory", kitchen, laundry room, and big room where people played relaxing theraupeutical music, similar like hospital plus mayo clinic.

It is interesting because I found the snake as part of the story in this health museum. I wonder if there is somehow connection with Asclepion ancient healing center in Pergamon / Bergama, just 600 km away from Edirne 🤔.

Ottoman Bridge known in other names Yeni Köprü (= new bridge) or Mecidiye Köprüsü with 12 arches. When I walked and enjoyed along the bridge, I could sadly imagine the bridge were only for pedestrians ... unfortunately the bridge is also used for vehicles and 😣 just be careful for anyone who wishes to walk.
Not too far away from Meriç Bridge there is another called Tunca Bridge which has 10 arches and built about 200 years earlier than Meriç Bridge.

I love the big calligraphy works and they are very beautiful.
Eski Camii or Mosque is located close to Selimiye Camii and Uç Serefeli Camii. The mosque was built during the Ottoman period.

One of the biggest synagogues of Europe restorated and opened to prayers by the Directorate General of Foundations.
It is free of charge and you can park your car around.

This museum is just behind the Selimiye Complex. Very small museum but worth visiting because there are many sculptures of ancient Greece and Rome exhibited here as well. The garden is full of sculptures, too. There is no English leaflets, I'm afraid.

Located at the Kaaragac train station (which is not a University) this monument commemorates the Lausanne treaty by which the Turkish Republic has been recognized by the West. This shows the historic and modern importance of this monument.

Very interesting and nicely organized. Small but rich in exhibits and explanations. Interesting timelines illustrating the tumultuous history of the Edirne city , and another containing the main informations regarding the life and activities of the great architect Mimar Sinan. The ticket cost only 5 TL and worth visiting it together with the Selimiye Mosque.
