What travellers are saying
- Katherine MSilverthorne, CO12 contributionsGreat site easy to see lots of ruins during the 90 minute hike that starts and ends at the visitors center. Bring water and a hat. Dogs on leash allowed on trail. Keep dogs and kids close we saw one big rattler at the base of a bush so you just need to keep your eyes open.Written 18 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DrPeterSchRadolfzell am Bodensee, Germany92 contributionsWe arrived five minutes after the official opening hours and just met the nice lady with German roots on the parking lot. She re-opened the center just for us and provided valuable information to us. - Chuck2010Palmyra, PA2,636 contributionsWhat a tremendous place to drive for fall color. We, unfortunately, had to make the drive in cloudy and rainy weather due to a traveling time table. Even in those conditions, it was greatWritten 28 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- tim dGlen Ellyn, IL16 contributionsWhat a terrific place! Spent ALOT of time - as well as bought several very nice pieces of navajo jewelry and weavings. Something here for everyone. - LucillyGirlSan Diego27 contributionsHusband and I have visited plenty of wineries to sample traditional wines. So we were happy to discover Yellow Car, which specializes in fruit (non-grape!) wines and meads. (Tip: use Apple or Google maps to find the access to the frontage road leading to it).
We were greeted by Chloe, a sweet greyhound/ black lab mix, who met us at the entrance and escorted us inside. We were soon joined by Ellie, another cute pup, and they both kept us company in the casual tasting “room” (a charming enclosed patio).
Husband and I each ordered a tasting flight of 5 wines. The only downside was that it was so difficult to choose from the large and varied tasting menu! (Note: there are also several grape wines on the menu for purists. 😉). Jamie, our host, was super friendly and helpful. He asked us about traditional wines we usually like and recommended specific wines and meads from his menu. We had so much fun sampling our choices as he told us a bit more about each one.
The wines were unique and refreshing, and we ended up taking home 8 bottles. What a great experience!Written 12 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The selection was outstanding, both reds and whites. The tastings were as many wines as you wanted for no cost. We both enjoy whites and bought a case. Our favorite was the 2016 Metate Blanc and we wished, after returning home, that we had purchased an additional case of just this wine. We are figuring how to incorporate another trip to this vineyard in next year's travels.Written 29 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
