- MAP12New Orleans, LA600 contributionsWe had to adjust our schedule to see this because during the "winter" schedule (September?) they close on Sunday & Monday. There was no way I was going to bring a friend to Great Falls and not show her this museum. She was impressed. I think it's one of the best of the Lewis & Clark museums I've been to.Written 12 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MAP12New Orleans, LA600 contributionsDid a self guided tour. Boy how this has changed for the better since I lived in Great Falls. We spent almost 3 hours here to see it all. I'd seen much of it before, but hadn't been in the home and the gallery is new. Definitely a "must-see" if you're in Great Falls.Written 12 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndyKansasCityKansas City1,029 contributionsWe’ve stopped at Giant Springs a few times while traveling through Great Falls. It’s a beautiful spot to stretch your legs and take in the Missouri River. The beautiful springs empty into the Roe River (world’s shortest river), which then empties into the Missouri River. You can also view Black Eagle Falls and Rainbow Falls on the drive along the Missouri. There is a small entry fee for the park.Written 8 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sheepdog1125Spokane, WA207 contributionsWe stayed at the Best Western Hotel. The River Walk is right out the back door. It was quite refreshing to walk along the Missouri River, on a hot evening, and watch the boats. We saw numerous birds and squirrels. We saw white Pelicans, which is always a treat. Don’t miss this trail if you are in Great Falls. The trail is paved the whole way.Written 25 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To go , we went in January and together with us came snow fall . I give 4 stars as roads weren’t clean up and made it tricky to get there , as we were little
Concerned of getting stuck on our way back up the hill .
This Dam is very impressive and I wish that tourist part was open but it’s only open during summer time . Still incredible

To get to the museum, you do NOT need to go through the guard gate! Stay in the RIGHT lane all the way and turn right just before the guard gate. The Visitor Center is on your immediate left. If you are in the left lane, it can back up a half mile for people entering the base...a big waste of your time! Once you park at the visitor center you sign in and go through the vetting process. You will need your driver's license, you will be photographed and fingerprinted like any base visitor, and a background check run. Once that is done, you will walk over to the museum. I understand it is run by one guy, Rob, who is the Museum Director. He has a wealth of knowledge about the missile program and loves to chat with each visitor. It looks like a small building, but the displays are very well done and informative. There is also a movie to see. It was free, very interesting and worth the time.Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kane FMoscow, ID33 contributionsRecently visited this park again after moving out of the area years ago. It's as beautiful as ever and I have so many great memories from the many times visiting as a kid and as an adult.Written 10 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - da96San Diego, CA8 contributionsThis was my first trip to Great Falls, where my parents (now deceased WWII vets) lived in the 1940s-50s. I was thrilled to visit St. Ann's Cathedral, where my parents were married in 1944. The pastor and administrator could not have been more gracious talking with my husband and me about my family roots in Great Falls. The cathedral is beautiful (well preserved and spotless!) and we were especially impressed with the gorgeous carved wooden doors. The doors are in memory of a prominent local physician, Dr. John McGregor (donated by his family). Turns out (I learned later from my sister after sending her my photos of the cathedral) Dr. McGregor was the physician who delivered my sister at Columbus Hospital in 1953! My parents and sister moved from Montana to the East Coast in 1954, so needless to say, this was an exciting find for our family. Serendipity at its best! So glad I made the trip to St. Anne's!Written 16 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Neil BAuckland, New Zealand1,180 contributionsAbsolutely first rate small museum - and it's free!
I recommend calling into the GF Visitor Centre, picking up their self-guided historic walking tour brochures, spending some time walking and looking at the historic buildings and then visiting this museum. Having wandered around town on our self-guided tour, we found this museum then really brought the places we'd seen to life.
Nice little gift shop and very good restrooms too.Written 5 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was our first trip to the museum and I was quite surprised. It's a two floor building with multiple exhibits. Lots of different things to do and my daughter had a wonderful time. Downstairs they had a dress up station, boat, space ship, Dr. Seuss Whoville, Ole timey credit union, among other things. Upstairs they had a grocery store, dentist and doctor office, lego station and construction area. My daughter enjoyed the dentist/doctor office the most. They also have a small coffee shop downstairs. I can see where there could be some improvements, but overall it's a great museum for kids to explore and learn. We'll definitely be back.Written 8 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- eur0starpacific northwest462 contributionsWhat a nice art museum. Mostly contemporary. Old school building converted into a art museum. The wooden people permanent exhibit is a real crowd-pleaser for adults and children. Not crowded. Perfect for a hot, cold, rainy day. We were greeted by the Executive Director who is a very nice and knowledgeable woman and added much information and joy to our visit. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Small gift shop with some nice items from local artists.Written 6 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
