What travellers are saying
- Russell WMaine2,097 contributionsFamily members getting together at Christmastime. We walked the beach from the jetty to the Mile Road. This is a year round beach and always enjoyable. There's plenty of room and the dogs can run.Written 24 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kathy HPlymouth, NH10 contributionsI love walking here year round. It is peaceful and everyone greats each other with a smile. Good free and healthy entertainment.Written 29 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NHjoSaco, ME8,611 contributionsIt was such a nice late-summer day that we stopped here for a short hike in the woods before moving onto Wells Beach. We'll definitely return here in a few weeks when the foliage colors ramp up -- the area is particularly beautiful then.Written 17 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,097 contributionsThis beach is big. Plenty of sand, plenty of room. It's a great place to walk at any time of the year. There are assorted places to park. Being the off-season, we got one of two spaces in a tiny lot adjacent to the beach, but larger lots are nearby. Scenic views and plenty of ocean for your sea activities, and plenty of sand for your beach activities.Written 20 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,097 contributionsAn unusually warm February day brought us to the beach, along with many others. My wife and I had a very pleasant long walk, but property owners post privacy signs. You may want to go to connecting North Beach if you want to "loiter." Parking across the street was free today, in February.Written 10 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BamTggEast Hampton, CT686 contributionsChase Farms is our 'go to' place when in Wells.
Who can ignore the aroma of freshly baked goods? This time we resisted the temptation and only selected the peanut butter as well as oatmeal raisin cookies.
However we did other shopping : Maine maple syrup, hot sausages, fresh apples, carmel corn and two beautiful fall plants. Fortunately we had a 'shoe horn' to fit t all into our car.
We think that a stop at Chase Farms is well worth the few miles off of rte 1.It is always good to support a local business. We'll be back next spring.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can spend a lot of time here perusing the stock. There are books that cover any subject. Most are on shelves, some are locked in glass cases. One can spend a long time here.Written 8 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maurene_KDover, NH10,956 contributionsAlthough Spiller Farm has its address on a different street from Spillers’ Farm Store, the farm is diagonally across the road from the store.
After lunch at Spillers’ Farm Store, I went over to Spiller Farm where it was partly about apples and mostly all about pumpkins.
The rainy growing season had not been kind to a number of pumpkins. Many had a lots of warts on them. But, that didn’t stop people from coming to pick out some pumpkins.
While I was looking over the pumpkins already brought over from the pumpkin patch, a woman with three children came along with a cart full of gourds and pumpkins. They went on the scale one by one. Surprisingly, her total was under $25.00.
I rate Spiller Farm at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.

- capecoddaBoston, MA69 contributionsBeautiful area but private parking. Nice area to drive around not stop and visit. There is no where to walk all private homes.Written 8 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Russell WMaine2,097 contributionsWhile visiting Wells in January, we found so many places closed, but Spillers' Farm Store saved the day! After looking at a house with a realtor, I wanted pizza, and my wife wanted a lobster roll. Our first choices were both closed! We knew from Tripadvisor that Spillers' was open so we drove there, and it sure was. Not only did they have pizza (I bought all three slices that were readily available), but they had lobster rolls, too! Perfect, since we had to head to Portland to make our flight and didn't have time to drive around looking for lobster rolls. The store isn't huge, but there's a LOT in it. Meats, produce, a deli, pizza made on site, and the usual grocery items that you'd expect. The pizza slices themselves had been in the self-serve case for a bit, but they were still really good. My wife liked her lobster roll and chips. Friendly staff, talkative and engaging. I will not forget this place, and plan on visiting in the warmer months for berry and apple picking. Plenty of parking, credit cards accepted. Brisk traffic in and out even in Winter on MLK Day. It's nice that they are open daily year round when so many other places are closed.Written 21 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,097 contributionsThis shopping plaza has pretty much everything...A large, well-stocked Hannaford supermarket, Bank of America with ATM and drive-thru, Cinema, Dollar Tree, Reny's: A Maine Adventure, Pizza Market with awesome delicious pizza, Naviina Salon and Day Spa, a drive-thru carwash and a lot, lot more...Rococo's Ice Cream, chocolates, real estate, get you nails done... Well-located just off of Post Road and Mile Road with two entrances. Beware, cars entering from Post Road DO NOT have to stop and the four-way, BUT ALL OTHER vehicles MUST STOP at their respective stop signs when leaving.Written 12 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
