What travellers are saying
- Dave & DanWoodstock, Canada86 contributionsGreat family farm that takes you a tour of the facility. They show you various plants along the way and then some history on cocoa and then you make a small batch by hand. You can participate in the making of some chocolate and get various tastings. A fun, educational and tasty experience. Racheal our guide was terrific and knowledgeable.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RossWaukesha, WI12 contributionsThis beach turned out to be perfect for our family with kids aged 10, 8, and 5. The waves were fairly calm, and there was plenty of beach to lay out on. If you come on the weekend, it gets a little busy and shady/covered spots on the beach fill up. The surrounding jungle and views are amazing. I highly suggest a spot near La Sirena restaurant. I had the "catch of the day" two times, both phenomenal, and they have really good pizza for the kids. You will have a good day!Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Flitz8-A foodie travelsAmsterdam, The Netherlands3,010 contributionsThis beach is good for snorkelling, so take your snorkel kit with, there is some slippery sections so best go with wet shoesWritten 2 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Caroline WLondon, UK23 contributionsNo doubt La Ceiba is a very special place. If you love wildlife, I mean really love it - like sharing the house with it - you will be in heaven here. The wildlife viewing tower as the sun sets is magical - soaking up all the sounds of the jungle and seeing miles of forest below you.
The house itself is lovely - very open plan and stylish.
There are a few buts. This isn’t like staying in a resort. There isn’t much in the way of help here - we muddled through but information prior to arrival is minimal and once you get here you need to figure it out for yourself. Most disappointing though is that they currently don’t offer day or night tours here which was a real draw for us. Bringing in all our food was fine but without a hire car you’d need to be pretty organised.
Overall wonderful to support great rehabilitation programmes but a shame there aren’t good paths to explore, no wildlife books to look at, tours or good comms once you get here.Written 6 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The weather was great and the place we stayed was awesome, quiet, clean and had all of the amenities we wanted. We biked to the beach and hiked around in the neighborhood, calle margarita area was full of nature and just a beautiful area.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria 🪷Los Angeles, CA108 contributionsWe stopped by for breakfast and were immediately met with a smile from the server at the counter. She was efficient and attentive. Loved the meal, as well as our smoothies and coffees. If you’re a fan, I’d try one of their macadamia nuts covered in chocolate! - Regan TDover, NH1 contributionLoved the long walk to the beach- saw iguanas and sand crabs along the way. The view on the beach is great! There's done sandy shore and rocky parts to climb. You can get to another beach on the right of v you wanted to take a walk. Riders on horses go by as a part of their tour experience. It was good. Didn't swim. Too much seaweed.Written 19 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
