What travellers are saying
- Tom ABedford, UK3 contributionsI loved going to Paignton and the zoo to see Jurgen from the series The Zoo on the CBBC the series I have watched for most of my life and Jurgen is the best character in it. I had been wanting to go and see Jurgan at Paignton there for a long time and when I finally got that chance it was amazing it was truly a trip of a lifetime.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stuart S4 contributionsWent to see Geniuses Reconnected Jan 20224 and booked food, we arrived early and was let in because it was cold outside, very pleasant and helpful staff, who took us to the bar, the food arrived fresh and hot (good price as well) very chatty and pleasant service, well priced drinks at the bar, and a very good evening enjoyed by all.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Trace n DaveNewhaven, UK120 contributionsLove this beach and the surrounding areas we came here while we stayed at Beverly park as it’s not that far, we walked along to the end and back it was a lovely warm sunny day with the sun shining reflecting on the sea ❤️❤️Written 15 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tidynigeBristol, UK241 contributionsAn unexpected find just a few miles from Paignton, this "castle" is well worth a visit. We took advantage of the guided tour by Martin and were so glad we did. He was so knowledgable and enthusiastic he really made the place come alive. As mentioned by others there is only a small number of rooms open, so the added information provided by the guide made all the difference. Parking is a bit limited (on grass verge outside the gate) so could be difficult when the place is busy (or muddy when wet!)
Overall recommended but make sure you take advantage of a guided tour!Written 13 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elaine PWorthing, UK5 contributionsWent on the round robin trip Paignton to Teignmouth. On arrival we were informed it was choppy so there was an option to cancel with full refund. Very enjoyable & informative experience, crew were very entertaining. Amazing close up views of coastal scenery. Very impressed with this company, trains cancelled so were alerted via text & phone call to make sure we were aware. Train ticket accepted by bus so had a scenic journey back via the top deck. Would thoroughly recommend.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The grounds are being kept as best can be, by volunteers. So it is worth taking time to walk the grounds, see the mansion and imagine the life that Isaac Singer & his family would have enjoyed in the 1800s. Isaac was the founder of the Singer sewing machine empire.
The history is fascinating and best read prior to a visit. There are tea rooms at the base of the mansion and it offers seating inside or out to enjoy.
It is free to enter the grounds and plenty of parking is available on site.
Really hoping the Council will save this place for generations to enjoy.Written 12 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Yet, the areas between roundham are a bit touristy, cheap food, a lot of people.Written 5 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon8 contributionsPrices are now crazy - £58.50 for all day (3 X 3hr slots at £19.50 each) - used to be £13 each for an all day ticket (before 2020) when booked as a group,
They used to provide free wetsuits - no longer (purchase only).
No food or drink allowed to be brought in anymore.
Was a good value day out - now a very expensive treat.Written 1 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very clean and quite few people with their dogs there as great spot for families.Written 19 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Toby JBristol, UK4 contributionsSome fun game machines, but the 2p machines were suspiciously stubborn at giving out 2p winnings. Lots of coins would drop from the top, the back of the bottom level would move, but the edges would barely budge. I don't expect to win big, but I also don't expect not to win anything. Odd.Written 2 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
