What travellers are saying
- James W44 contributionsThe museum is very busy so you have to use your imagination to picture what the building was like when the Frank family were in hiding there. We paid extra for the programme before going around the museum - this was a waste of time: we learned nothing new and it was focused on the few children who were there at the same time.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 907blakedTampa, FL1,449 contributionsThis was one of the highlights of our trip to Amsterdam for me personally. I thought the museum was very well organized, and a great variety of work from van Gogh was on display. We got advance tickets for 9 AM so that we could get it before the museum got too busy, because it was definitely crowded by 10 AM. We visited in March, and I can only imagine how busy it gets in the summer.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 907blakedTampa, FL1,449 contributionsAs everyone else says, this is an amazing museum with so much stuff that you can barely see in one day. With that said, the app was very difficult to use, and so we ended up not using it. Not sure if the official audio guide from inside the museum would have been better. We got our tickets several weeks in advance for 9 AM, and it was a good thing because the museum got considerably busier by 10 AM or so. Their collection of decorative parts was particularly enjoyable.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carolineannekennedyAmsterdam, The Netherlands1 contributionSpring is coming! Visiting Vondelpark during the spring season is a wonderful experience. This iconic park is blooming with snow drops and other spring flowers right now. We had a lovely stroll in the sun and enjoyed a take away coffee from one of the carts in the park. My 2 year old played with the ducks near the pond. When you walk here you know: life in Amsterdam is good. So don’t hesitate to visit this park if you want a peaceful getaway right next to the hustle and bustle of the city center.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 907blakedTampa, FL1,449 contributionsThis is a interesting place to visit in Amsterdam, different from the big art museums. It really brings to life the reality of the Protestant Reformation, and how life in the Netherlands used to be. The audio guide is excellent, and the museum is well organized. It took us about one hour to go through, and we were not rushing. Definitely a must-do while you are in Amsterdam.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Yilei2014Tucson, AZ71 contributionsWe got there pretty late in the afternoon. It was dark already when we took a train from airport hotel to downtown. We can feel the Christmas atmosphere. Tourist boat in the canal is running. A public event was ongoing near the Centraal on Palestine human right. It is such a vibrant city.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Nathan&GemmaLondon, UK89 contributionsA must visit when you come to Amsterdam, it is all part of the culture!
The canals are beautiful and the actual area itself is nice. This is where you will see the various small “windows” where the ladies are within. It does have that strange feeling, however the general atmosphere was good.
Definitely worth a visit.Written 10 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna B2 contributionsAn excellent collection of animals, insects, etc. All housed in interesting and suitable conditions. Overall the collection was in well kept and historic parkland.
Choice of eating facilities, enjoyed both lunch and a final cup of tea and cake.
The zoo particularly appeared to cater for families, discovery activities, etc. A playground for children within the zoo offered relaxing fun.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
