- OnAir146222058265 contributionsThis beautiful place contains paintings collection from famous artist Rajkumar Chandrajitsana Singh (RKCS) and his son RK budhi Singh. This family has given their four generations into the art and painting legacy. It has coneceptualised whole Manipur state’s history and folktales into beautiful embellished paintings. We met RK Budhi singh, an acclaimed painter himself sitting there was making another painting. He was so simple and generous to share the glorious saga of this marvel of art.

It was established in about 1978 in the campus of Thangpat Mapal Palace.

The property surrounding the gallery is also quite beautiful, so your experience can overall be quite exquisite!
The Handsel Art gallery hosts artists of all genres and can also be reserved to host exhibitions and such events. My experience encompassed witnessing works of local artists of Manipur and also some sculptures and mural art by students from various colleges- including the Rabindranath Tagore University in Kolkata.
The display of art work is quite well curated and the space seems almost like a personalised journey through various pieces.
One can simply enjoy the works on walls and sculptures on display tables, and even buy from here and feed the collector in them!
