We joined the Havana tour as 4 people from two different hotels in Varadero. Our guide Raul was really knowledgeable and gave us very interesting information about Havana and Cuba. When we visited historical places, we compared him with the other tour guide and Raul was by far the best of them all.
It was half the price compared to other companies and tours. - mbcrook49Chattanooga, TN11 contributionsThis was a fantastic scuba diving trip to Cuba! Rene’ arranged all of our travel from the moment that we got off of the airplane. We stayed at an apartment nearby ran by Malia. It was $30 a night and included a living room, dining room, kitchen, patio, bedroom with AC, and also had a safe to lock our valuables. There was a washroom where we could clean all of our scuba gear each night and a clothesline to hang our wet clothes. Malia provided us breakfast every morning for five dollars a day, very reasonable!
Ansel was our dive master and took us out for two dives every morning. I felt safe and cared for the entire trip. We saw some amazing scenes and got some great pictures. Rene’s wife, Cecilia, had us back for lunch on our last day, which happened to be my husband‘s birthday. She provided lunch and a cake. They made us feel welcome the entire trip. We also went to a dive site two hours south near the bay of pigs and had lunch at a little town on the way back. It was an awesome day!
One thing that was a little difficult was finding a place to buy food supplies and water. Also, the electric electricity routinely goes out 2 to 3 times a day. This is to be expected in this area. One suggestion would be to bring your own snacks if possible. I have previously booked through Sunwing on this exact same tour but preferred my time with Alfredo much more.
He was very professional and kind. His tour in English is excellent. He has some good history information regarding the places we visited as well.
We stopped in town for beverages and snacks also which is just around the corner from the snorkeling launch site.
At no time did I ever feel in danger or that he wasn't fully aware of us in the water. All safety equipment was provided and in excellent working order.

You will discover many local secrets, including art studios and parks. - Jessica H1 contributionI've been on this tour a couple of times already. Each time I am impressed by the knowledge and warmth of the tour guides. This is a family run business and I have stayed with them at their Bed and Breakfast. I really felt like I experienced Cuba. My favourite stop was the old coffee plantation where the owner is really nice and loves to share stories about the history of the place.
