Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Bodean KRegina, Canada20 contributionsThere are many plus sides to this experience. They have a few different resturants on sitetjat use charcoal to cook when they do not have power, as well as bars. A drink was 200 pesos, a soda was 300 pesos. Take pesos for spending as everything is in pesos other then the gift shop. We paid 3000 pesos for myself and my wife.
They will ask you if you want to pay extra
To take photos on your cell phone, we opted no and as soon as we got down into the cave the guide said he didn’t care about the money and wanted to take some photos of us.
Bring a head lamp or flash light as 9/10 they have no power. Pack good shoes to walk in as it can get a little slippery. I’m glad we opted at the earlier time as it was much more enjoyable with less people. If you are claustrophobic this is one you will want to sit out of.
We tipped our tour guide 600 pesos for his amazing service. Will for sure come back soon. There are many dogs on site who can always use a snack or simply just love. We did not book through a hotel we simply rented a car and off we went!Written 23 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has a small cafe for cold drinks and coffee, as well as an outside bar which serves Pina Colaaas. There are some small stalls that you could buy some souvenirs. - fredyt3Los Angeles, CA1,916 contributionsFirst in 1874 there was the historic Palmarde Junco, now the action has moved across the creek to Estadio Victor Giron. It is a well kept venue and home to the Crocodiles. If you are in Matanzas you will want to check it out as it is by the main park as well as the zoo. Very easy to get to.Written 6 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Emby PMontreal, Canada26 contributionsWe had sucha wonderful time at Casa Ana Birding, it's hard to describe with words how much we recommend birdwatchers to come here. Our room was comfortable and clean. The hospitality of the family is amazing. The breakfast, for 5 USD per person, per day, was so delicious and so filling that we were never able to finish everything. We did two full-day expeditions with Adrien and his son, starting early in the morning and ending late in the evening, with breaks during the mid-day. Our goal was to see all the Cuban endemic birds we could see in the Zapata region. Adrien and his son went above and beyond to help us accomplish that goal which we succeeded at! We traveled around the region by motorcycle because it's easier to get to narrow trails (though you also have the option to travel by car). From the Zapata Wren to the Cuban Parakeet, we saw all 20 of the endemic birds we could see in the region! We would joke with Adrien that he is a bird magician and that he would call the birds we were looking for in advance to make sure they would appear when we arrived at the target location. He knows exactly where and when to find the birds. Of course, just the garden at Casa Ana Birding is incredible. Within the first minute, we saw a few Bee Hummingbirds. We were very grateful for our unforgettable experience with Adrien and his family.Written 18 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Havana fought the playboy in the Cuban sun,

- s1rwMarkham, Canada70 contributionsA visit to the Taino Village of Guama which is a re-creation of Cuba’s original inhabitants. We boarded a speed boat and travelled through the canal surrounded by thick and luscious vegetation with sparrows and pelican in the trees.. The canal enters the mythical treasure lagoon which is a beautiful natural lake. In the distance we spotted the Indian Village only to be disappointed that the inhabitants were locals and not Indians. Entering the village was a welcome center with coconuts spiked with Cuban Rum, the highlight of the trip. The village had life size sculptures created by the famous Cuban sculpture ,Rita Long, depicting the aborigines performing the daily duties of fishing, hunting and house work.Written 24 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
