Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful spot at the end of a gravel road, very good track down to the river - even my 82 year old dad managed fine. Surrounded by bative forest, beautiful clear water, deep swimming hole with rocks for jumping off. Clean, well-kept but basic toilet/changing facilities. Swing bridge across the gorge is amazing but not for anyone with a fear of heights!

Awesome little reserve close to Carterton with areas for the adventurer and beginner. The place is only 5' drive form Carterton, you can also bike there easily. The reserve itself has got different areas of lush trees, ferns, a swamp area, etc.

Recommend looking out for when events are happening here - I attended the Autumn Equinox and it was fantastic to witness the sunset on the Equinox Stone along with having great conversation with those in attendance. Will certainly keep an eye out on various events as they come up (Solstice / Equinox / Matariki) because it makes the visit more of an opportunity to celebrate and mingle.
There is a theatre that facilitates a presentation which can get a bit off track. Divine energies (divine feminine and divine masculine) were confused with gender (divine masculine exists in both physical genders / divine feminine exists in both physical gender….a man can be nurturing/ a woman can be destructive….it isn’t physical representation but energetic).
The Autumn Equinox was also suggested as being ‘Hallowe'en’ which is not quite true. Halloween or Samhain is the last harvest (linked to the Harvest Moon) whereas the Equinox is Mabon, the second or middle harvest, Lughnasa or Lammas being the first harvest.
For general terminology though the harvest time was certainly a time of celebration. Mabon though is the middle harvest related to the Equinox from a Celtic or Gaelic perspective but all societies or peoples acknowledge this special time.
Wonderful hosts, dedicated volunteer with love of acoustics and music. Will certainly be back to study more of the displays in the theatre area along with the actual Stonehenge. This location isn’t about the construction/ rocks…it is about what it represents with occasion, acoustics and alignment astronomy with astrology. Energies of the divine…

We went to look at the beautiful Christmas shop, and were pleasantly surprised to discover a most beautiful garden behind the hedges!! A beautiful day wandering around the well looked after property, even better when the owner walked us around and explained all the plants and plantings. We went in the summer but I would love to also see it in the Autumn colours. Took a heaps of photos. Perfect place for a wedding. And it is just at my backdoor (5 min drive)

Longbush cottage gardens are absolutely gorgeous. Plantings are beautiful, flowers everywhere you look and the layout is well thought out.
