Beautiful. The Castle is huge and tall and even just looking from a far is pretty breathtaking. Definitely worth a trip.

We were shown round by a very friendly and knowledgeable lady called Julia, who was extremely patient in explaining every aspect of the wine making process, as well as marketing and other aspects. We then had a tasting of three white wines made on site. Highly recommended. Plenty of really good wines at reasonable prices available as well

Nice first visit which illustrates very well not only the importance of the Ferias of Medina del Campo, but the general economic system and international connections in late medieval and renaissance times in general.

Medina del Campo is reputed to be the favoured town for Isabella La Catolica, and where she received many foreign emissaries. It is the town where the agreement was reached for the marriage of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon.

The Palace which is small and tucked away in the corner of the Plaza Mayor has a reproduction of Isabella's last days and houses her multi page, finely written will which includes many commands for her husband to follow. Pretty clear who wore the trousers in that marriage!!

A place of particular interest to followers of Spanish history

This is the main square of Medina del Campo. It is surrounded by different restaurants, bars, and coffee stores. The main basilica and also the townhouse are located in this area. It is a good place to sit down and relax. The only problem is that trees are missing. They should plant some trees and shrubs to make the area green and environmental.

This is a beautiful church in the main square in Medina del Campo. The church was built in the 16th century, it is a late gothic temple with some parts that belong to the Renaissance. You can visit the church was before mass.

This is a historical site in downtown Medina del Campo. It used to be a market during the 16th century, when Medina was very important as a commercial town. I recommend the visit during the weekdays and not on Sundays. They close it on Sundays, so you will not be able to see the inside.

This is the chapel where Saint John of the Cross celebrated his first mass. Medina was the birthplace of the great mystic; it was also the town where Theresa of Avila met Saint John.
    The chapel is beautiful.
