- groovybaby1Yate, UK1,317 contributionsFantastic tour with our knowledgeable guide Rayon, who really made this trip special. From our pick up at the hotel to dropping us off in the evening, nothing was too much trouble and we felt really looked after.
The tour itself was fabulous too and well worth the money (it may not be cheap but I would highly recommend it as it’s great fun and provides an insight into some of Jamaica’s most beautiful sites).
YS Falls was my personal favourite. We loved the fact that you could swim anywhere, there were only a few people so no crowds despite it being Christmas and at the end laze about at the pool to dry off. Make sure you bring mosquito stuff.
Black River was great too, lots of crocs, one of my sons even touched the biggest beast.
The Pelican bar is a proper chill out place. I just wished I had brought our snorkels!!
I would highly recommend Aloha Tours, they were very professional, punctual and flexible (we managed to stop at a supermarket).
Great communication too, if you do go on this trip ask for Rayon. Definitely telling my friends about this experience and the tour guide Charles was amazing, helpful and very informative. He also contributed to a great experience on my 1st time visiting . The scenery is beautiful, the waterfalls are so refreshing to sim in and we even got a limestone scrub!! Afterwards, they had a great place for lunch with the best jerk chicken, sweet plantains and rum punch EVER! Darein was an amazing tour host with exceptional driving through the narrow roads of Jamaica. The rum tour was as expected, great throughout. We were unable to attend pelican bar as it was closed due to the heavy rain which was expected. - FallonB241 contributionMy trip was amazing! My tour guide Rumone was outstanding! He was very informative and taught us a lot. We even stopped and got some really delicious food on the way. Which was the best food I had during my entire stay! The ride was cool because you get to see nature at its finest. Also getting to Floyd’s was a quick boat ride which was very peaceful. When we reached it was a cool vibe. Everyone was welcoming and I even met Floyd! He was very humble and appreciative.Overall I can check this off my bucket list as a success. He was more than accommodating to all of our requests, made sure we were safe and having a good time, not to mention his humour, we were honestly all laughing the whole time. It was a game changer to see this seventeen century estate, then it was on to the pelican bar in the middle of the Ocean. Our tour included a visit to the breathtaking YS Falls (where we swam in the natural swimming pool and jumped down from the vines), a scenic drive through the picturesque Bamboo Avenue, a boat tour along the serene Black River, and a relaxing break at the unique Pelican Bar, perched on stilts in the sea, where we enjoyed rum-based cocktails. For lunch, we stopped at a charming local restaurant, savoring freshly prepared lobster paired with an ice-cold original Red Stripe beer.
The organization of the tour has been excellent, and the guide was very kind and knowledgeable. I did not go in the water as I have a mobility issue but enjoyed watching and took in the scenery. I learned a lot about rum at the distillery.
