Milos Mining Museum
#1 of 2 Museums in Adamas
A good tip would be to visit this museum early on so that you can understand what you are seeing because of the volcanic eruption: beaches, rock formations, breathtaking scenery, different colors, during your holi...
In an hour and-a-half this elegant museum fascinates visitors with the history and the stories of a very rough and harsh way of life and its products through 3000 years.

What a wonderful museum which filled you with peace as soon as you entered with the beautiful music.
This is a fascinating little church - now a museum.

... put that on here as I couldn’t find opening times anywhere online!) and it happened to be free as it was a national cultural weekend of some sorts as I know the museums in Athens were also free this weekend.
There is an excellent museum guard who is passionate about her work, has studied a lot of history and will answer your questions knowledgeably.

We visited in May and all the other museums were closed.
The sand art pieces are unique and fairly reasonably priced, and in the back of the shop is a small sand museum you can walk through for free displaying sand samples from around the world.
