We did a two-day tour in February in the BEAUTIFUL Vinales Valley through Discover Vinales. We saw all of the major sights in the area and honestly, our hike we did on the second day provided breath-taking scenery! And we really absorbed the local life and felt we left having had a truly authentic experience.

Everything was just as we asked for from--and promised by--Luis Yanielo. We wanted a bit of flexibility in the schedule and the opportunity to tailor things to our needs (and desires). For example, an ox-cart ride instead of horse-back. Hiking was more important to us than ziplining. And so on. Each of these things (including our pace) was absolutely no problem at all!

Our guide, Dior, was very knowledgeable, easy-going, respectful, helpful, and patiently answered all of our questions (and we had MANY). He is a very smart man. He genuinely engaged with us over the two days. Our driver, Yusniel, was fun, kind, a real family man, on time, reliable, cheerful, and an amazing driver when it came to navigating some of those roads! And we really enjoyed him and meeting his Mama, too. Thanks again to you both!

Our overnight accommodations were perfect at Villa El Habano in Vinales. Yuneika and Ale were simply amazing and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. And we even had the "mountain view" we requested from Luis. We made a life-long friend in Ale. A lovely man! Consider booking your stay at Villa El Habano when you're there. You will be treated like you matter. Hello to Ale! Thank you! Miss you already.

If you are able, really do consider tipping your guide, your driver, and anyone who helps to give you your amazing experience along the way (such as at the farms and so on). They really do go the extra mile. And they have A LOT of challenges to contend with in their daily lives in Cuba. These are hard-working, very smart, loving, kind people. They will open their hearts to you. We adored them. Ensure you bring enough small USD $ for your tip money. We found we didn't bring enough on our trip and it's impossible to exchange money and/or to break down larger bills. Whatever you think you'll need per your budget, bring more.

Great experience with Tati in Viñales we went meeting with farmers who make their own cigars, coffee, rhum and honey. The horse riding was great and their welcoming and treatment was excellent. Always pick Tequilla if you can. He is the best horse their 🇨🇺🐎🤩🗻

My family and I arrived in Vinales to find Humberto waiting for us (right as we exited the car!) to take us on a tour of the valley. We had no idea what to expect, and this tour ended up being unanimously our favorite experience in Cuba! We took a quick look at the beautiful view from the top of the hill by Hotel Los Jazmines, then headed to a restaurant right down the hill with Humberto for a very yummy lunch! We were chatting immediately, and quickly became comfortable with our guide, as he was very friendly, funny, and knowledgable about the area and about Cuba in general. My parents speak Spanish, so were able to practice some with him, but he was also really easy to communicate with in English, which was great for my sister and I (non-Spanish speakers).

After this, we walked down into the valley, while Humberto told us a bit about the area and pointed out different plants, telling us about their uses in local herbalism/medicine, which I found super fascinating! We visited a Tobacco farm, and got to visit with the family who lives there-- two little girls let us hold their new born puppies while their mother made us fresh coffee... so fun and special! It was so beautiful, even though we were there on a rainy and cloudy day-- Humberto made sure to be checking the weather so that we were under cover (watching the farmer roll us cigars, or sitting down to drink fresh sugarcane juice!) for the rain, and were never caught in a downpour!

Then came the horseback riding, which was SO FUN and Humberto made sure we all felt comfortable, even though we are not regular horse riders at all... it was just so magical to be riding horses through the lush green valley, listening to the birds and seeing only animals, not another person in sight except for the farmers we visited!

After visiting with another really wonderful farmer, who we bought some delicious mango-flower honey from, we made our way to a viewpoint to look over the whole valley. Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the day was riding the horses back to Humbertos house as the sun slowly set over the valley, just feeling so lucky to be in such a beautiful place!

Thank you to Humberto and all of the lovely people we visited with for making our time in Vinales so memorable.

My friends and I did this 2 weeks ago and it was AWESOME!! Does anyone know the length (distance) and the height at the highest point this is? My friend, who's 75 can't believe she went through with it and it's the highlight of her year, so she wants bragging rights!!

We had a brilliant horse riding tour through the Vinales with this company. We were picked up outside our hotel where we mounted our horses then trotted alongside tobacco fields before stopping to learn about the cigar making process with a knowledgable farmer called Ryden who taught us everything from growing to smoking them!

We then had an authentic lunch and finished back in the heart of Vinales. Our guide Yule was knowledgable and friendly and our main contact Maylin was so responsive and helpful from the moment I requested to learn more about the tour to the very end, checking we were happy with everything.

My only comment would be the horses were a little too skinny and had some sores from a recent hurricane.

We messaged with Lester before coming to Vinales, he was very educated and well spoke, he came up with the perfect plan for the amount of time we had there. He made sure we were able to experience a little bit of everything. We went horseback riding, ziplining, hiking to a tobacco farm, and even took a boat through a cave. It was the most enjoyable experience! Lester made sure we were able to make the most of our time there!

I had a great week with Yandry in 2016. I am trying to get ahold of him to return. I tried to email him but there is no return. Is there still climbing opportunities witha guide in Vinales. Looking at returning in April.

We booked this full-day trip from Havana to Vinales. The experience was amazing from start to finish. Daniel picked us up in the morning, as agreed, by means of an American vintage car. Drive was pleasant and comfortable. As we arrived at Viñales, we picked up Marilyn to start the guided tour. Firstly, we visited the Indian cave where we went round these caves b by means of a motorboat ride. We also tasted sugar cane juice at this location. Then, we visited a tobacco and coffee plantation from where we rode on horses through Vinales Valley to arrive at an organic farm to fork restaurant, El Paradiso. This was one of the best lunches we had during our stay in Cuba. Afterwards we visited the Mural de la Prehistoria. Throughout this tour, Marilyn was a fantastic guide, giving us lots of information about Cuban culture and traditions, animals and trees. Both Marilyn and Daniel were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly.

Price of this tour was very reasonable and I would surely recommend it to everyone visiting Cuba.

This was definitely one of the highlights of the whole trip to Cuba.

The views of the valley of Viñales are amazing and unforgettable. At the same time, the high temperatures make it really hard to visit this on foot. So this leaves us with the following options: taxi, motorbike, bicycle, or horse riding. We chose the horse riding experience to make the experience even more memorable.

The horses (or mules) are nearly automatic, as the guide at said at the beginning. They know the way and only sometimes one need to indicate the animal whether to steer left or right. I rode a horse once or twice in the past so it was fine for me. I was carrying my daughter in a baby carrier and she was laughing and enjoying the horse ride when she was not sleeping. However, her mother never rode a horse before and she was scared the whole time.

The tour was arranged with the Casa Particular (Nedelka) and paid in advance (15-20 CUC). They picked us up from there and left us at the place of the tour guide. From there we rode the horses through very poor trails within the town that were a bit scary. But then it was much more relaxing through the fields, although sometimes the horses acted like crazy and galloped in the wrong direction which was a bit crazy and almost led to an accident once, but the guide was competent to stop this from happening.

The tour included a stop at a lake where you can swim. I and others did and really appreciated it given the high temperatures. There is also a cabin there where you can have a beer or a cocktail. I had a guarapiron (sugar cane juice extracted in front of you, lemon juice and ron cocktail) which is typical from there.

After that we visited a cigars factory, where they showed us where the tobacco leaves dry, offered us a cigar for free, and tried to sell us a bunch of them. Original price was 40 CUC but I managed to lower it to 30 CUC. I think one could lower it even more if persistent or if you threaten to go to the many neighbor plantations.

We also made a stop at a coffee, honey and rum plantation where they talked to us about the harvesting and elaboration of these, gave us free samples, and sold us a Guayabita del Pinar bottle of local rum.

The whole tour takes about 4-5 hours depending on how flexible the tour guide is. Take into account that they need to take another group after you. You can either do it on the morning or on the evening. Put on sunscreen and cover yourself well or you will get very red as it happen to us.

We did this with a toddler but we were really scared at times when we lost control of the horses. Thinking back about it we realized it was a crazy thing to do, but the whole experience was amazing and unforgettable, so it was worth it. I mean we were just scared a few times but most of the time we were smiling, laughing and having an awesome time.
