If you aren't into ruins, there are excellent views of Syracuse, and it's a beautiful and peaceful spot - we only saw a couple of people on a November morning.
The Castle is spread out over some considerable area on the top of a hill overlooking Siracuse and consequently has some remarkable views of the city and the sea beyond.
