We had the most amazing time and got to see so much of Sri Lanka that we probably wouldnt have seen if we hadnt been on this tour. We loved the night in Ella and the hotel we stayed in was lovely. We really enoyed every part of the tour but especially the Udawalawe national park and Sigiriya rock. Aaron was the tour driver and he couldnt do enough for us! He was very knowledgable and smiley. The amount of driving he did for us was Insane !

We were picked up from Ella at 3 am and transferred to Tissamaharama, where we hopped on jeep. Our guide and driver, Yashara was very helpful and knowledgeble. He drove us around Yala National Park and made effort to show us as much animals as possible. We saw leopard, elephant, wild water buffaloes, crocodiles, peacocks and many birds.

It was the best choice due to the short time. the driver Nandasiri was very helpful and concerned about the schedules. - Jakub L2 contributionsWe came on Sunday when the factory was in operation. They still do tours though and we picked the Plantation tour. It was great to listen to Sallay explaining how the plantation work is organised and how plucking is done. I would love a little more space for questions. I am sure they would be happy to answer them but you need to actively ask them or else tour moves along fast as next group is already waiting..
Part of the tour was plucking tea.
Tea tasting was great and the person (Nishal?) serving the tea very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions.

Driver was real professional. He took me from my hostel in Ella and ride me to Mirrisa after visiting national parku. - Lyn HPerth, Australia13 contributionsWith Navin’s guidance we saw and did more than we could have done otherwise. We saved $$$ by using his contacts and experience to go to sites and to book things such as cooking class in the village, safari tours and local restaurants - much more expensive using the hotel offerings as we stayed in luxe.
Navin was at all times reliable, polite and willing to do anything to make our day more enjoyable - for example when our energy levels, the weather or a change of heart meant we wanted to do more or less or something else - he facilitated it without ado.
Do think you need to think carefully about Knuckle Mountains. It’s is leech infested, and the scenery and experience was not worth the consequences!
Suggest you check with Navin at the end of each day what type of clothing is needed for the next day’s outing - Navin can assist and ensure you do not inadvertently offend sacred site standards.
While activities are usually planned as 1/2 day, enquire about how long it takes to get there and back, as that helps you know how much down time at the accommodation you will have to enjoy.
Navin knows great places to recommend - obvious must sees as well as more hidden gems and he uses his contacts very well to tap into.
In summary we felt at the end of our fortnight with him that we gained a friend. His devotion to Buddhism comes through in his gorgeous approach to people and to life. He’s a lot of fun too. Roadside stops to see crocs, the Ravana waterfall with its communities of monkeys close by were some of the driver’s way of making sure our day was most memorable.
The organiser ensured we boarded the train at Demdosa (north of Ella) so we could board a quiet train and experience passing over the nine arches bridge before the train Bevan packed at Ella.
The visit to the tea plantation was educational and informative and created an awareness of how much hard work local people give to provide us with the many cups of tea we take for granted.
The tuk-tuk ride and walk up to Little Adam’s Peak was wonderful giving 360’ views.
