Zion Rock & Mountain Guides
#1 of 3 Nature & Parks in Springdale
While we loved the beautiful hikes in the national Park, Zion Rocky Mountain guides really made the trip memorable.
Going to the west side of the Park was a great addition to our overall visit and gave us fantastic views of the mountains and canyons from lots of different angles.
Zion National Park
#2 of 3 Nature & Parks in Springdale
Zion National Park is an amazing area suitable for all ages, offering hikes that stretch from easy to challenging with the world famous Angels Landing hike which is both exhilarating & scary at the same time.
Our hike at the north end of the park ( Taylor Creek) on the other hand was Awesome!!!! Nature pure with a beautiful trail leading right to the end of the canyon.
The Narrows Zion National Park 1.1 km away
#2 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
We took the Zion National Park free shuttle to the start of the Riverside Walk and enjoyed the walk along to the start of the Narrows, getting close-up photos of a mule deer and ground squirrels as we walked.
Zion National Park is one of the prettiest places I've ever seen and this is one of its most iconic hikes (with Angel's Landing), and it's one of the most unique hikes I've ever done.

Canyon Overlook Trail Zion National Park 1.4 km away
#4 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
Take the time to do this hike if you have a limited amount of time in the park as it gives you a great view of the main canyon, plus the drive to get here from the main gate of Zion is pretty spectacular as well!
You are well rewarded with terrific views of the canyon at the end, and you are atop a beautiful arch seem by the switch backs on the Rt 9 drive into the park.

This is really a must-see National Park as one can marvel at the gracefull slot canyons, towering cliffs and awe-inspiring monoliths, all carved out over 200 million years from the orange sandstone.
Staying in Springdale, just outside the park provides a good gateway to explore all that Zion offers and there is plenty from all the trails and the brilliant Narrows walk in waterproof gear

#9 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
We hiked the Watchman trail with Ranger Eric who expertly explained the evolution of mammals in the Park up to the Jurrasic Period.

Pa'rus Trail Zion National Park 3.6 km away
#13 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
The trail followed the river on the canyon floor and offered great views in every direction, This was the last thing we did in the park, and we thought it was a great capstone to our fantastic visit.
The Pa' rus is the easiest stroll in Zion National Park and the only trail that allows dogs (on a leash) and bicycles, an easy 3.5 miles out and back.

Lower Pine Creek Waterfall
#3 of 3 Nature & Parks in Springdale
The creek, mountains, woods are amazing and the trail is out of the main park area served by the shuttle bus, so we were alone, even if the park was full, which is worth a stop
Most of Pine Creek gorge requires a permit from the park and technical canyoneering gear and experience.
Court of the Patriarchs Zion National Park 9.4 km away

The trail is an easy walk along the Virgin River and among the towering cliffs that define Zion National Park.

#1 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
Highly recommend this hike for anyone looking to do some strenuous hiking in Zion National Park and want some amazing views.
But as I discovered with this hike and the Narrows hike, if you're lucky enough to be able to make these bigger treks, you will see an entirely different side of the park which vaults it way past beautiful and int...

#8 of 36 Nature & Parks in Zion National Park
A friendly park ranger advised either Angels Landing or the Hidden Canyon trails would be a good alternative for us.
As at all national parks, we're glad to carry water, sunblock, snacks & rollup broad-brim hats.

We hiked the Angel's Landing trail up to Scout's Lookout on the last day of our 10-day Southwest Utah Mighty 5 National Park vacation in April and it was an incredible, rewarding experience.
As part of our quest to visit all 59 national parks before we die (we are old! ) , we did this incredible hike at Zion and have decided it may just be our all time favorite !
