Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- annalimonroe1 contributionFantastic, beautiful and informative ❤️ It was truly eye opening to hear the true history behind the royal family and how their sovereignty was stolen with dishonesty and greed. It’s always a blessing to see the culture and progression of a people or nation throughout history. Not only is their culture pure and beautiful, their jewelry was well!Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - funnyfarmwestRedding, CA55 contributionsWe had heard of the Bishop Museum and were in the area one afternoon. So, we parked paid for the parking, noticed the sign said parking hours ended at 10 pm. So we walked up to the door. We had no idea the museum closed at 5pm. We walked in and were told there wasn't enough time to tour the museum and they wouldn't sell us a ticket. I guess it was around 4pm when we showed up. I know bad planning on our part, it turned out it was the only opportunity to visit the museum and leave. After we got back to our hotel room my wife called about a refund on the parking fee. She was told that they only give a half hour grace period to request a refund. But they were nice and refunded the parking fee anyway. We were looking forward to the visit while in town mainly because of the artifacts on display and comments made during a circle island tour about what was there to see. (an episode of the Classic 60's Hawaii FIve O might have had some influence too). Nevertheless, we didn't get in. Something to remember next time in town (if it ever happens again).Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Canada360Okotoks, Canada10 contributionsThe Ala Moana Center was amazing!! My family loved it, there were so many shops that we could go and check out, and a bunch of dining options that were so good. It was not that busy and if you need a place to go when you don't have anything planned then go to the center!!! Throughout the day in the middle of the center, there is this stage where you can o watch a mini luau for free!! The luau tells such a great story is so good. A lot of effort for the dancers to show up on a stage with over 100 people watching them. there is this one restaurant in the center that is so good it is like this store and they cook the food in front of you.!!! They don't have many vegetarian options but I suppose they won't way because it is such. The meals are very expensive like 80 per person but I suppose it is that way because they cook it in front of you. Overall it is not that busy and I loved the experience.Written 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RemittanceNinjaVancouver Island, Canada133 contributionsBeing a huge history buff, going to Pearl Harbor was a dream come true for me. I was not expecting to enjoy the submarine exhibit portion as much as I did. The indoor museum portion (which has WWII, Cold War, and modern exhibits) was truly awe-inspiring, in the sense that it gives you a magnitude and appreciation for 20th century history. The real-life torpedos, warheads, and so much more really give you a sense of the stakes of war during these periods, and just how close humanity could have been to disaster should history have taken another path.
The absolute highlight was getting to go on the Bowfin, which has been lovingly restored, and set up as an interactive exhibition to board. Again, actually getting to walk through the submarine compartments and seeing the cramped quarters in which the submariners lived for months at a time was breathtaking.
Highly, highly recommend, and I will never forget this visit.Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So beautiful and historic, the collection is both educational and breathtaking.

Out of all the Pearl Harbor exhibits, it was probably my least favorite only because I love nautical history so much. That being said it is like choosing your least favorite dessert. - OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary4,333 contributionsIt is like a mall just anywhere in the world because the majority of the stores and shops offer very expensive products.
The good thing is that there are some shops that sell only local artists creations.
Anyway, it is worth spending here an hour or so.Written 16 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While the selection was a bit limited at that time of day, I still managed to find some tasty options for lunch. The quality was good, and the convenience of being able to grab a quick meal on the go made it worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back, though I’d love to see a slightly wider variety available during the early hours.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alan CPasadena, MD186 contributionsAnother of the places that provides a key piece to the Hawai'ian history of the 1800s as it transitioned from Kingdom to State. The palace has been lovingly restored with many original pieces. The docent was outstanding in presenting the life and time of Queen Emma and her unfortunate family as well as tying her life into the history and current day of Hawai'i. The grounds themselves while relatively compact are also beautifully maintained.Written 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
