Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Southwest_GauchoLake Havasu City, AZ1,273 contributionsGreat place to visit and learn about a very special place in Hawaii. Self guided walking tour was set up well and the NPS app with audio and written descriptions worked well to learn about the points of interest. Facilities were nice and clean restrooms. Would definitely return in the future and enjoy a picnic lunch and some hiking there.Written 7 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine B3 contributionsIncredible view on the farm.
The road to there is beautiful, lush vegetation.
Incredible to see how they proceed with the preparation of the coffee beans.
The coffee is excellent!! Needless to say I guess...
And do try the banana -macadam nut bread!!Written 14 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Meaning some grass and rocks but no sand. Limited parking so need to go early.Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gorak66Fountain Inn, SC28 contributionsEasy hike with outstanding scenery plus goats and mongooses galore! My wife and I stumbled on the trail and beach picnic area by accident when visiting the national park. If you drive to the beach, it’s very beautiful and was unexpected. We went along the ocean trail which intersects with the 1871 trail. The surf crashing on the lava was really visually striking. Hike down to the ramp and see the great views from above.Written 27 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SquareCallerWilmington, NC144 contributionsIf you are craving some really good Mountain Grown 100% Kona Coffee, there aren't many places offering that delicacy at reasonable prices.
While visiting the "Big Island" of Hawaii, I attempted to purchase some Kona coffee to bring home for myself and friends. Mos places had the coffee, priced at $19 - 20 for a 12 oz. bag of beans. They also offer 10% Kona, which is a mix that might come from anywhere.
Kona Safari Farms only offers 100% and Calvin Dinning, the owner, is very clear that he does not intend to offer mixed coffees, due to his committment to providing ony the best.
Because of some travel constraints, and not being able to find the actual farms, we called Cal and hewas kind enough to deliver the coffee we needed to our hotel.
I would say that anyone who wants good Kona coffee at good prices, currently $19.95 per pound for 100% Mountain Grown Kona, would find it hard to beat Kona Safari Farms.
And the nice part is that Cal offers mail shipment with reasonable shipping fees.
Have I found my place to order Kona? Yes!
Do I recocomend Kona Safari Farms? Yes.Written 22 March 2011This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The first involved three of us for freediving training. With Ben's coaching all three of us hit new depths including my husband's 40 meter dive.
Our second outing with Ben was a spearfishing trip along the reefs. We chartered his boat and guiding for a day. He took us to 4 different sites that accommodated all of our levels...that was quite an accomplishment given that my son only dives up to 15 feet. Ben would take my husband out to deeper waters and my son would stay in shallower waters. Ben gave tips throughout the day. We caught tons of reef fish that were very tasty. Ben was great with our teenage kids. This spearfishing trip was the highlight of our whole trip to Hawaii. We highly recommend Ben for both freediving training and spearfishing trips. He can take people reef fishing and blue water fishing.Written 4 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
