The helicopter ride was smooth and the views of the glacier were amazing from above. And then we landed on it, for exploring the glacier surface. The guides gave us all necessary equipments and instructions for the adventure. Then we walked along the uneven glacial surface and explored different ice structures and arches. We got ample photo opportunities, tasted the glacial water(take a bottle to fill up if possible, it tastes heavenly) directly from the little streams and also went inside a narrow arch made of ice. The weather was rather bad when we arrived to Fox Glacier and it looked like it won't be possible to have a flight, and many of the flight companies had cancelled the tours. Mountain helicopters had cancelled flights as well, but they told us to wait for an hour or so, and we did, went for a stroll and coffee and I'm glad we waited until the weather was safe to fly. It was definitely worth every penny.
The scenery is spectacular.
The helicopter we had was a small one so it's great fo couples.
The company took really good care of us and we were happy we had the tour with them. The service was warm, caring and personal.
