We camped in the DOC park there in a freedom camping rated motorhome--felt like parking in a farmer's field with dunes on our doorstep and glorious sandy beaches and rock formations just beyond.
The winding road leads to this fabulous beach with good access, plenty of car parks and a magnificent beach to relax on.

Clean white sand, great fishing of the rocks, surf life guards on duty, playground for the kids, park to picnic , clean toilets and showers and a small group of shops for the essentials.
We recommend parking at the surf club car park (kid's playground and picnic area + toilets and shops) and walking along the beach heading north and then around the point by the estuary and past the golf club.
