Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jonathan C.La Jolla, California, USA526 contributionsGorgeous redwood forest - there is an easy paved walkway and boardwalk where you can learn about the plants and animals that live in this beautiful ecosystem. The boardwalk branches off into multiple hiking trails up the sides of the valley.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neal751Washington DC, DC47 contributionsHit various parts of this mountain (Muir woods, Marin jeadland)), but the best part was sunset at the top. Go past trojan point past the next parking lot, left at the T, parking lot, easy short trail thru the grassland. Then wait, meditate, relax, experience the beauty. Even meet some people if you want - it wasn't crowded on the weekday, but we met some very nice locals that come here often. The views before and just after sunset are great too.Written 12 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jlarmer92 contributionsWe hiked to the Dipsea from the Pantoll Campground/parking lot on Mt. Tam via 1/2 mile on Old Mine Trail, then down the Dipsea to Muir Woods, about 3 miles. Beautiful views, in and out of the forest and some open areas, where we saw lots of the rare Mission Blue Butterflies. Some very steep drops down to Muir Woods.Written 27 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- CRLFWeymouth, MA27 contributionsI believe this is the only restored Nike missile site in the country and it is an important relic of the Cold War when the U.S. and the USSR were in a nuclear standoff. The tour guides make all the difference here - they are former military personnel who actually staffed the site. We got to go down into the bunker where the missiles were stored, then watch as one was brought up on the elevator to the launch pad and raised into firing position. It was super cool and also thought provoking at the same time. Admission is free and it seems like tours can vary quite a bit in length - we were there for nearly 90 minutes.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NSchrockinCaliforniaMill Valley, CA136 contributionsThis little theaaer is a gem. Small concession stand in the lobby. They have a weekly comedy show on Tuesdays that’s lots of fun. Have seen hysterically funny acts here. Check it out.Written 17 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - olympvbaDavis, CA34 contributionsIt was a great time staying here. The only negative moment was wind. The day was windy, however, the ocean was magnificent as always.Written 16 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa McHenrySan Francisco, CA2 contributionsAn awesome afternoon experience!
Starting with the charter bus ride...just 10.00 roundtrip to be chauffeured thru the redwood forests up mt.tamalpais with awesome bay and ocean views! Seriously soak in all this bay area glory with others awestruck by the spectacular views!
This "interlude" to the performance is a "show" of itself for about 40 minutes until arriving at the amphitheater.

They have a range of different types of plays,so attending with friends or by yourself you'll enjoy yourself. They sell wine and its allowed inside as well. The one negative thing is the main bathrooms as you walk in allow all genders to enter. So beware that if you are a woman, you may find a man walk in. But they do have gender specific bathrooms in a different area of the theater...although this should be pointed out before entering the other. Its rather startling when you have a man enter a bathroom when there is a line of women waiting to enter a stall.Written 19 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - les sMill Valley, CA78 contributionsLovely square in the middle of downtown Mill Valley. Lots of people sitting around if the weather is nice. Kid friendly. Sometimes musicians play. Always a chess game going on. Just a relaxing place to hangout for awhile.Written 30 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
