Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Rodney LPhiladelphia, PA2 contributionsEvery visitor to the Philadelphia area should plan on visiting this necropolis. Try to catch movie night, if possible.Written 3 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dean_Amy-2004Gettysburg, PA5,827 contributionsIf the cemetery is closed, you can still see the grave site from the sidewalk, through the gate. Not something to take a lot of time at, but worth a visit if you’re there.Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dean_Amy-2004Gettysburg, PA5,827 contributionsNot able to enter the cemetery at this time, but Benjamin Franklin’s grave is right along the wall and at a gate you can see from the sidewalk. An opportunity to visit his final resting spot.Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kiwiandmollyBourbonnais, IL150 contributionsThe Woodlands Cemetery was a great diversion from all my time visiting the busier, more touristy areas in Philadelphia. The grounds are beautiful, there are many unique plants, and the headstones themselves share so much history! I loved walking the grounds on a beautiful day in June!Written 20 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaleoGypsyPhiladelphia, PA2,140 contributionsRead the placard to gain a basic understanding of the historical significance. This place is easy to find and is located a few blocks from Septa’s Jefferson Station. During my visitation, I peered through a locked gate. Bring binoculars or a zoom lens if you desire to see close-up views of the headstones.Written 16 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DEREK P56 contributionsI stayed at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District and my hotel room looked down on this cemetery. I saw tour groups being taken through, and I was curious as to why. So, I walked down, and strolled through the cemetery. It ended up being pretty interesting, like how it was created by Nathan Levy. Or the distinguished people buried there, like Haym Solomon who was the financier for the American Revolution. Anyway, it was short and worth the walk through.Written 28 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - M E RBoynton Beach, FL517 contributionsWe visited here on Easter 2018 to find flat stones sunken,or at angles and the lawn needing to be cut. The new owners are doing a poor job.
walking to the various graves I went to visit was very hard. ground uneven. Each time I visit I find the place in worse condition. I will not purchase additional sites for my family in any Stonemor owned or managed cemetery.Written 24 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
