Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a very interesting tour with a knowledgeable guide. It was cool to see the actual meeting rooms of the UN councils as well as get a feeling of the scale of the UN and its operations.

Important to know is that you have to register online before your visit to get security clearance.

This is one of the most recognizable courthouses in the country. It's been the filming location for many movies and TV shows including Law and Order. It's close to several subway stops, the Brooklyn bridge and Chinatown. Take a few moments to walk around to the back of the courthouse to see the statues there as well.

I very much enjoy this part of town and often return to sit in the park in front of City Hall and admire the classic old buildings all around. One of the rare parts of Manhattan where old architecture has been nicely preserved and now it is in great shape. The City Hall itself is of classic design.

This is a big civic building in the City Hall complex, actually the one you notice first when you arrive in the area because it is so tall and wide. Handsome old style.

Scandals followed the expensive construction of this big city hall building in the Nineteenth Century. Now it is an impressive historic building in the City Hall area of town. Part of a collection that makes this part of town very well-designed.

On my way to NY ComicCon, I stopped in at this lovely hometown-like NY LIbrary. The atmosphere is what you expect, one of quite intensity, but you also see the technology intermingled. That juxtaposition is a bit weird at first, but it's how the world moves now. The Librarian was very helpful. There's one "All Gender" bathroom on the 1st floor. The latest Fictional Tales and Research can be found there as well. There was a Police Presence at the door, but it was school "let-out" time and maybe was warranted.

We had read about the bravery and importance of NYFD Engine 55 during 9/11 and wanted to swing by and pay tribute to the amazing individuals who gave their lives. There are beautiful plaques mounted outside. Highly recommend!

On the corner of Park Ave and 68th this is a building acquired by the Marquesa De Cuevas in 1965 and presented to the America’s Society same as the Place next door.

Brooklyn Municipal Building sounds very bland and functional. Thank goodness the building is better than the name!

If I were to say it's a fancy town hall that would be an understatement. It has the look of a temple. It is close to Columbus Square and next to the road that will take you over the Brooklyn Bridge. Jay Street Metrotech subway station is also close by.

My husband and I did not have ferry tickets in advance to visit the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. We did not arrive at Castle Clinton until 11:00 am on a Monday morning. We were very pleased that we were still able to get tickets. The pedestal and crown tickets were sold out for the statue, but we still enjoyed the audio tour. Ellis Island was very moving. We watched the 30 minute movie and then did the audio tour. It is eerie to picture all the immigrants in the building waiting to see if they can stay in America. The banners that lined the way to the ferry had quotes from Benjamin Franklin, John Kennedy, etc.praising what immigrants have meant to our country. Even the announcements on the ferry were inspiring. I felt sadness at the way immigrants are treated today thanks to the ignorant thoughts and tweets of our current president.

At some point in time firehouses were designed by architects and were attractive. This firehouse completed in 1898 built in the Beaus Arts style was landmarked in 1968. I have a picture that I will attach later as I am not being given access by TA at the moment. A beautiful classic big, bold and colorful firehouse in NOHO NYC.
