The winding road up the cliff will take you to a lovely, well maintained park with plenty of parking, easy access to the view area and an absolutely stunning view!
A short drive from the center of the city gets you to an amazing city park which spectacular views of the entire area and the Mississippi.
Riverside Park

The views are great, park is immaculate, great place to people-watch, view eagles and osprey over the water, check out the very nice formal gardens, bring a picnic, and enjoy the day.
A great park along the Mississippi River where you can sit for hours just watching the mallard ducks, watching the barges go by, enjoy a picnic lunch, take a walk, etc. Very clean area.
Goose Island County Park

A large pretty park with many picnic areas and places to play and relax.
I've never camped here but we frequently go to Goose Island for a walk through the woods or to play at the park.
Riverside International Friendship Gardens
