    Absolutely amazing.
Was larger and more entertaining than we pictured.
Well maintained and comfortable to walk at our own pace.
    Beyond what we expected.

The moving, compelling, "Echoes of Slavery in Greenbrier County" exhibit makes this a "must see" stop in Lewisburg. We've visited numerous county, town, historical society museums throughout Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia, but this exhibit makes the Greenbrier Historical Society's museum stand out among all of them. This very compact yet sensitively curated display includes some must-be-remembered-not-be-forgotten artifacts, includes newspaper advertisements from slave traders and owners, including owners offering bounties for escaped slaves. It then records highlights and lowlights of reconstruction, the Jim Crow era, and the Civil Rights era. If time doesn't permit your paying an in-person visit, you can view the exhibit on-line at the website of the Greenbrier Historical Society. One of the things I miss the most during this time of covid is seeing live theater at GVT!! The quality of acting and choice of plays is fantastic. I love the local actors mix with professional actors, the quality is amazing. I love local writers being showcased too! I highly recommend! Go away covid, we want GVT back!!

IF you're in the mood to shake your soul - going to hear Buckwheat Zydeco and his bad will do the trick.

We went to a Friday night performance at 7:30 - and got there at 6:30 for pre-show snacks and drinks. The bar was manned by volunteers and featured Smooth Ambler whisky products. My wife had a nice White and I had a Bourbon. The Bourbon was enough to convince us that we were going on their tour on Saturday.

We had very good seats on Row J - and sipped the rest of our drinks as we waited for the start of the show. It was a slow arriving crowd - and they all seemed local - and seemed to know each other. The hall filled - and the show started.

And the hall shook as the band rocked with Zydeco songs - and quite a few of the audience danced and rocked also. The acoustics. are what you expect at a professional hall. The seats super comfy. The site lines great.

Since we got there so early - we got a great parking spot on the street right next to the hall. But - there is plenty of street parking nearby for an easy walk. BTW - the ticket prices are a bargain for the product you receive.

We're ready for their new season - and it's only 1:15 hours from our home.

This should be the first place you visit - if it's your first visit to Lewisburg. Brenda greeter gave a us a 'guided' tour of the area on a great map of the area. She gave the normal spiel on what was available - but added some interesting details.

Lots of material about the area is available that might not be online.

At the end of West Washington Street - and plenty of on street parking w/o time limits.

Nice display of local art, too.

If you like old cemeteries this is a good one. Lots of old graves. Beautiful setting right in town. Quite and peaceful.

Truly one of the things I love the most about Lewisburg, the arts! Trillium is dedicated to presenting interesting, beautiful, creative, intriguing dance performances. I never miss a concert and sometimes go twice! Love this town!

Nicely located shop on what I believe to be the Main Street in town. It was raining when we arrived but we did find free street parking around the corner. Antiques are high class and nice to look at, just didn’t have a lot of what we would desire to but at the time. The wine and beer selection was great. Bought a bottle of local wine but they had some nice name brands as well. Would recommend!

Fresh vegetables and great bagels. So many vendors that have sweet treats, flowers and local produce. Come Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We enjoyed looking through Brick House Antiques. There was quite a variety of items for sale. Very friendly, welcoming staff.

LOVE this theater! Sends you back in time, if you live here, you know the ticket seller, the person at the concession bar and the camera person! If you're a health food nut you appreciate nutritional yeast to put on your popcorn! You can get a beer here! LOVE this theater!
