    Great trip to the falls
    We were on a motorcycle tour of Western MD and WVa and this was one of our stops. It was absolutely beautiful. There are a lot of steps down to the waterfall overlook, so be prepared to climb back up. Nice visitor center too.

    A must. Highly recommend. We loved it
    Excellent resort. It has been recently renovated top to bottom. Our room had brand new paint , carpets etc.

    The location is AMAZING!!! wow!!! Beautiful grounds landscaping and trails.

    Staff is wonderful. Every single person made us feel very welcome.

    We would give them 5 stars...except for one thing: their restaurant is terrible. We went twice, once for dinner and again for breakfast. The service for dinner was so incredibly bad we left. Management must improve wait staff.

    When you do stay here do NOT waste your time attempting to dine there. Go to Davis or Canaan valley restaurants instead.

    Timberline - Awesome Skiing
    Great family ski experience at Timberline Ski Resort! We loved our first trip to Timberline and are already looking forward to a return trip! After seeing an article in AAA’s magazine about skiing in West Virginia, talking about Timberline’s investments in new lifts (high-speed six-person) and state-of-the-art snowmaking capabilities along with the beauty of the mountain and the views, we decided to give Timberline a try. We are so glad we did. The mountain was beautiful and the snow covered trails provided an excellent variety of runs that were lengthy and vertically challenging. Our family’s ski capabilities vary but each enjoyed the runs making for a great vacation. It reminded us of our ski trips out west! The staff was friendly and happy to help with our questions about the mountain and navigating the resort. Timberline was a great surprise!

    Sunset Ride
    We went on a 1.5 hour sunset horse ride on our summer vacation to Davis. Our leader Orion and staff were friendly and very helpful with mounting, dismounting and general instructions. Our horses Dolly and Soldier were sweet and gentle. The scenery and sunset was spectacular! Managed to hold on to the reins and take pictures. All of the trial ride participants enjoyed themselves. This is the second time we have ridden at Mountain Trail Rides and we look forward to riding again! We still enjoy the refrigerator magnets with portraits of Scarlet and Tater from our first ride!

    Do not miss the view at the top
    Do not miss the hikes in this preserve. The rock formations and views at the top are worth the drive to get there. West Virginia was a very pleasant surprise and this place should not be missed.

    Best artisan store - wonderful variety and prices
    This artisan gallery was on my must do list when we came on vacation. This is the best artisan galley I have been to in several states! It has such a wide variety of art that make excellent and affordable gifts for so many people. I got most of my Christmas shopping done in June!

    Everything was attractively displayed and organized with several styles and a wide variety of styles. Items included: jewelry, pottery, wood items, metal sculptures (got some pretty metal butterflies to add to a garden), leather such as belts and bags, lovely smelling soy candles, paintings, photography, stained glass such as sun catchers, handmade and dyed yarn and finished hats and other items, baskets, hand blown glass, and more.

    Beautiful items and nice staff. Such a great way to support local WV artists and the economy.

    Great resource
    What a lovely, local resource and a great place to start a visit to Davis. There are trail maps, a gift store, plenty of books about the animals, flowers, etc in the area, kids activities… They also offer talks about various subjects. Outside are easy trails where they’ve labeled the plants, so you can learn about what’s indigenous.

    Fun and informitive.
    My wife and I went for the tour and tasting and it was well worth the time and money. VicBob was very informative and polite also you could tell he had a love of his craft which made the tour even better. as for the testing I liked all of the things we tried but the maple moonshine was my favorite.

    John Denver Got It Right!
    The people at the Visitor's Center are helpful and knowledgeable of the County.

    My wife and I recently spent a week camping, hiking, biking, kayaking and enjoying the towns of Davis, Thomas and Parsons, and their people. John Denver got it right!

    Easily accessed from Davis
    We biked through the Wildlife Management Area and enjoyed the area very much. It was nice seeing the Blackwater River at different points. We didn’t see many people, so may be suitable for those seeking solace.

    Excellent multi-generational activity
    We found this walk on the map provided by Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The entire trail (.4 miles, I believe) is on a smooth boardwalk which makes it accessible for a wide range of people. We visited with 4 generations and everyone enjoyed. Plenty to see, benches are positioned in several locations & signage provides information about the flora & fauna. A very worthwhile activity.

    Don’t miss out on Blackwater Trading Post
    We had a great experience!!! We had read reviews that we had to check out the Trading Post and they were right.

    We had a great lunch, hotdogs, chips and Blackberry Ice cream(yummy)

    We were able to get gifts for the family and everyone was very friendly.

    Highly recommended
    Cory did a great job with our massages. My wife and I along with our college daughters had massages and were totally satisfied with them. Recommend for anyone needed a relaxation break.
