Kanawha State Forest
#1 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charleston
Gorgeous and easily accessible park with many different sites to explore; I only had a couple of hours.
The park is off the highway and has some crazy twists and turns but it is worth the drive.
Haddad Riverfront Park
#2 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charleston
Every weekend, weather permitting, there is a Free Live concert at The Amphitheater at Haddad Riverfront Park.
There are several little playgrounds throughout along with volleyball nets and a splash park for the little ones that just opened.
Avampato Discovery Museum
#3 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charleston
Wallace Hartman Nature Preserve
#4 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charleston
This trail is a bit over a mile long but is not an easy walk in the park.
Cato Park
#5 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charleston
I enjoyed the drive to Cato Park, viewing all the beautiful and historic houses along the way.
Very nice small park and golf course!
