This is the quintessential Barossa winery famous for having vintage tawny for every year for over a century. Their wines are better than average but IMO not great for our tastes. however even their cheapest Para tawny is pretty good. The staff in the 'cellar door' were attentive and informative but at the end of the day it is a big operation and not so personal. There are a few other bits in the complex like a gallery, gift shop, etc, restaurant and 'cafe'. The 'cafe' should be an embarrassment as the winery is iconic but the 'producers platter' is not generous and is served in a cardboard tray. Inside seating is more nasty camp ground than cafe; it was 38C when we visited and in contrast most days sitting outside would be 'a moment'. - Give the 'cafe' a wide miss unless you get a platter with eyes wide open. It might win a gong for one of the most uninspiring platters ever from any wine region. On the way you probably will pass the Seppelt family mausoleum. A few steps climb to get to it but nice views.

A visit to the Mausoleum is worthwhile for the history of the Seppelt family as well as the great views and the countryside. This is one of the prettiest parts of the Barossa Valley

    We just keep coming back!
Like most we found Izway from driving past, and have never been disappointed.
The wine is fabulous, and cellar door is beautiful!
Our latest visit was on the 23/3/21 and Brian was absolutely amazing - welcoming, educational and just a good bloke.
We've already got eyes on the Oscar and Matilda 2021!
Keep up the awesome work Izway, we will be back next year!

We contacted Amanda at Gardner Knives to find out the opening times so we could visit on Friday. To cut a long story short, we tried to visit years ago and a note was on the door that Barry was sick! That couldn't be helped! Yes we were disappointed but we knew we could come back. Well we finally got to have a look around and watched some people making their own knives. Barry came over to chat about the process involved to make a knife. Many hours are involved to get it to a usable stage. The knives on display were beautiful and I loved the different handles you can have. Appreciated the experience and the time taken to talk to us.

I was lucky enough to get to visit Wonderground on a visit to the Barossa Valley and just feel in love with this place. The people are amazing and so fun and welcoming. The art is incredible, the wine is world class and some of the best old vine Grenache that I have tried and venue is a hidden paradise in the middle of the Barossa. Highly Recommended!

Wow, what a find. Not on the tourist trail, we recently stumbled upon Milhinch Wines and their brand Seize the Day whilst touring in the western Barossa. Down a dusty path, next door to Hentley Farm is the delightful Seppeltsfield Cottage and the cellar door of Seize the Day Wines. Hosts Peter & Sharyn were fabulous as Pete gave us a look around the vineyard that he started himself back some 17 years ago when he planted 5 acres of Cabernet and the same of Shiraz. Producing now a beautiful fresh Rose made unusually from 100% Cabernet , this is their bread and butter wine and a great Rose. We also purchased some magnificent Cabernet which I personally love out of the Barossa, particularly from this corner around the Marananga area. The Shiraz is a big brooding beast of a thing, but their bargain wine is Australia's favorite blend Shiraz Cabernet- I did grab a case of this. These wines will reward patient cellaring and will go on for years as they are all perfectly sealed under screw cap- no fear of cork taint, that is still the scourge of Europe. Make sure you give them a ring as they are "by appointment", but there aren't many better ways to spend a beautiful spring afternoon than with Peter & Sharyn in their beautiful gardens, sipping some Rose and watching their geese waddling through the garden. Thanks guys!
