What travellers are saying
- Alan HValhalla, NY4 contributionsThis is a great winery for families. We were relieved to see so many kids around. Thank you to Dimitri our host for an excellent experience. He’s a real pro. They also have animals outside to entertain the kids afterwards . Such a beautiful place !Written 5 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- thevarietalOrlando, FL22 contributionsJarvis Estate, founded in 1985 by William and Leticia Jarvis, is a family-owned winery nestled on 1,320 acres in Napa Valley. Its 45,000-square-foot underground cave system provides optimal aging conditions for their acclaimed wines. Combining traditional methods with modern technology, the estate produces award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay while practicing sustainable viticulture.
We were able to enjoy a guided tour and tasting, while taking in the iconic architecture of Jarvis Estates caves. While digging the caves the construction company came across a water source and instead of finding a way to fix the issue they worked around it and made it one of the more iconic parts of the cave.
The tasting took place within the cave near the waterful which made for an incredible setting to taste wine. We were able to taste 9 wines while at Jarvis Estate which included the following wines; 2020 Finch Hollow Chardonnay, 2018 Cabernet Franc, 2018 Merlot, 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018 Petit Verdot, 2010 Lake William, 2015 Lake William, 2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2019 Tempranillo.
Our favorite of the wines were the 2014 and the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. Both showed great structure with pronounced notes of dark fruit and mint. The tasting also included cheese, dried cherry, and nuts. This was one of the most memorable tastings we've been on in Napa and a really great experience.Written 1 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had our sampling in the club room, but the solarium was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Out of all the places we visited, this had the best decor for the holidays!
The wines were fantastic! We enjoyed several and placed a large order here. There were great deals for delivery available. There were some small food items available for purchase.
Parking is mostly a longer walk up to the chateau, but we were lucky to get one of the few handicap spots since my Dad has limited mobility. If we came during a busier time of year, this might have been an issue.
Service was nice. It wasn’t as personal as it felt at some of the other wineries but we learned a lot about the vineyard and the wines we were sampling.Written 31 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Going into the parking lot, we were quite unsure of how the place will turn out to be because of the construction on the building before the main entrance. When we checked in, the host was very pleasant and told us where everything was. There were 2 adults and 3 children in our party so the adults had wine tasting and the kids had "grape juice tasting." Yury took care of us and we had such a pleasant experience. I felt a little rushed though and had to call his attention a couple of times to ask some questions because as soon as he introduces a wine, he would immediately leave. No big deal as it really turned out to be quite an enjoyable experience still. He gave us complimentary chocolates and even had us sample more of the wines we were going to order to be shipped. My husband and I ended up getting a dozen bottles of different wines to be shipped back to our home state. But upon checking the receipt when we got home, I noticed that they made a mistake with a couple of bottles, so I called the next day to have it rectified. Cindy was extremely helpful in helping me resolve the issue. Hopefully, they'll be able to correct it before boxing and shipping. I would definitely recommend coming here and I told my husband we should go back mid next year if their wine selection changes for the tasting.Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel the WorldSan Francisco, CA1,444 contributionsDress warm, no heaters in this winery and a large part of the tour is outside. Make sure to purchase the Winter Wine Tasting pass for $80 at the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce or online. It gives you access to tours and wine tasting at several wineries in Calistoga including Sterling (also includes Gondola ride). The pass is good through February. You save a lot of money if you plan to visit 2 or more wineries on the list. If you’re a non drinker you pay $25 for a Gondola ride with nice views and a self guided tour. Lots of great wine and history at this beautiful Greece inspired architecture winery.Written 18 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JKMillerIncNapa, CA62 contributionsA fantastic 4th of July evening event, made even more special by Joanna! This was our second visit to Arch & Tower (lunch tasting last time) and we were there this time for their 4th of July event, which provided a couple glasses of wine and a prime viewing location for the drone show over the river. The food was tasty (pulled pork sandwich, lobster malfatti, pate) and the wines were great as always. We were helped out by Joanna, who recognized us from last time and provided such excellent hospitality we walked away talking about how she really enhanced our night. Thank you!Written 5 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PaulMillville, NJ222 contributionsThis place was recommended by a friend to check out. The history of this place is the biggest draw. The winery looks amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful with our tasting. They added an extra wine for our tasting....bonus. - Avatar627Chicago, IL190 contributionsThis winery is on top of a hill, straddling Napa and Sonoma counties. Beautiful drive to get here and exquisite grounds - especially the capacious wine cellar where part of the tasting is conducted! The tour/tasting was informative and not rushed. Well worth the trip!Written 30 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michael FPhiladelphia, PA1,493 contributionsI love Caymus wines. Doing a Caymus tasting was a no brainer during my trip to Napa. Unfortunately, they were sold out when I first looked, however, after a quick call they managed to find a spot thanks to a late cancelation. So happy they could fit me in, however, I still had high expectations. Those expectations, well, were met+!
You're greeted with a very nice kept sake glass, a bottle of Fiji water, and the list of wines you'll be tasting. It is almost a private tasting as you get seated in your own section of a larger room and provided a tasting guide who basically only oversees a table or two. You'll get your money's worth on the tasting straight-up, especially with a sample of reserve on the list, but why not convert that tasting cash directly into a bottle (or two). That right there is a win-win in my book.Written 6 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our beautiful table was set up in the vineyard with the most gorgeous view. Our Wine host was amazing. Very informative about each wine. Gave us time to savor and enjoy each tasting. It was one of the best wine experiences we had while in Napa. I would highly recommend.Written 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 765bettyhSan Francisco, CA16 contributionsWe recently joined the Baldacci Family Vineyards Wine Club, and our first visit and tasting experience was nothing short of wonderful! The atmosphere was charming, and each wine we tasted was so exquisite that choosing a favorite was nearly impossible. Beyond the delightful wines, our hostess Sam was a highlight of our visit. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and a joy to chat with. If you have the chance to visit Baldacci Family Vineyards, seize it—it's an experience you won't want to miss!
