Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- LynneBethesda, MD1 contributionIt was a wonderful adventure.First time zip lining and also as a "city person" I never experienced being in the woods. Loved it.Written 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DCPhiladelphia, PA65 contributionsWhat a great store! We went to several of the sporting stores in the area and this one was truly the best in our experience. Great selection of clothes, kayaks and other sporting equipment (ski oriented, hiking oriented, and more). We also rented a canoe from them and they delivered it to the Waterbury Center Reservoir. Kaylee was super helpful and friendly, as was everyone we met at Umiak. Highly recommended!!Written 22 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jackiemyles3451 contributionRick was super helpful in considering which tour would be right for our group. He made suggestions for how we could spend the day before and after the tour. The day was great, casual paced. Would definitely book with 4points and Rick again!Written 2 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Caid G3 contributionsSo I actually didn't end up going because it was so cold! In the 20s F! When I emailed Shawn to let him know, he was appreciative of the heads up, but assured me that "the show must go on!" He was so sweet and dedicated. Communication was so easy and so quick. I just wanted to show how impressed I was by that, and I will definitely be doing this tour next year! I heard it was great!Written 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jennifer E1 contributionOur family did a custom tour with Savor Vermont and Tad Davis was our tour guide. We had such a great day - covered bridges, water falls, coffees, apple cider and donuts, Cabot cheese tasting, Ben & Jerry's, chocolates, and wine tasting! Tad was very knowledgeable of the area, knew all the secrets of Stowe, and understood the capabilities of our group (slowed the pace of walking, had walking poles for those that needed them, attentive to all guests). It was a highlight of our trip! I highly recommend his tours!!Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katie M2 contributionsWe did not he family gone fishing trip and had a great time! Our guide was knowledgeable, great with kids (<
10) and we caught lots of trout, perch and bluegill. Bring sunscreen and bug spray as you are in the woods and right on the water, but that’s why the fish are there too.Written 7 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My family and I took a tour with Todd during Thanksgiving break and it was the highlight of our trip. Todd was kind, knowledgeable, and overall a fun guy to get to know Vermont with. He customized our tour to our interests and made sure that everyone got what they were looking for. When our day started out a bit dreary, Todd had all kinds of wonderful ideas for indoor site seeing. When the sun came out and the clouds cleared, he knew exactly where to go for amazing views, and outdoor adventures. We covered a ton of ground - Stowe, Burlington, Montpelier and Waterbury.Written 23 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John T1 contributionWhat an amazing adventure! We had a wonderful guided snowshoe adventure. Milan called us ahead of time to see exactly what we had in mind and gave us suggestions. He was amazing. The views were incredible. We are first-time snowshoers, and he led us through every step.Written 25 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - born2bthe1new york11 contributionsI chose them because the other people would not pick me up at the hotel. I did not drive so I needed assistance. The taxi service in Stowe is not reliable. Our tour guide, Luke, was always upbeat and very informative. If we did drive we still would not have known or noticed many things that he pointed out. The backroads tours is like an off the beaten path tour that regular tourists do not get to see. We also did 7 wonders and taste of vermont tour. He cracked jokes and we did a little singing in the car. After awhile it was more than a tour but a road trip with a good friend.Written 21 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Silas L1 contributionOn this tour, a group of us were able to walk in the lovely pastures of the Trapp Family property and get up close with their herd of cows. During so the tour guide explained to us how the cows live, and the history of the farm at the Trapp Family Lodge. We also learned about farming culture in VTWritten 27 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Matt1 contributionWent on a private brew tour in the Stowe area with 10 friends as part of a ski weekend. Our tour guide, David, was excellent and was a great sport with our group, kept the mood lively and shared some great information. The breweries were all welcoming and timely with drinks and food. Would recommend to others in the area. Total trip length was 5 hours and visited four breweries.Written 3 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Previa1994Chicago, IL6,648 contributionsI rented a bike when I was visiting Stowe and wanted to ride the beautiful Stowe Recreation Path. MountainOps is conveniently located at the trailhead out of town. Staff was very helpful and professional. The rental process was very smooth, and payment is when we return the bike for the time used. Prices are very reasonable. Ample gravel/dirt parking available; but be careful with the traffic on the highway in front of the store. Also, the inside of the store is not too level (uneven planks). Bathroom on site. MountainOps also rents/sells other recreational equipment. I highly recommend them for recreational equipment.Written 31 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
