What travellers are saying
- Sacha19702017Gorlitz, Germany23 contributionsOn an area of about 5 hectare, this zoo focuses on a livestock of European and Central Asian animals. The zoo offers plenty of occasions to interact with the animals, standing out among them the petting enclosure allowing direct contact with different farm animals. A replicated Tibetan village housing domestic animals originating from that region gives insight into the Tibetan culture.
The beautifully arranged park with its creeks and pond is an attraction in itself. The "Spider playground", the "Red Panda playground", an additional playground, and different games to play provide lots of interactive experiences.
All this comes with an affordable price tag, 3,90 € (children) and 5,90 € (adults).Written 10 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This church makes an amazing backdrop to the photos taken of Gorlitz from the Polish side and across the bridge.Written 1 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen TBerlin, Germany83 contributionsThe history of Silesia is fascinating and full of drama. This history comes to life in the imaginative way the artifacts are presented in a beautful setting. It is a long history so give yourself plenty of time to absorb it and combine it with a walking tour. (Tickets at Tourist Info and only 7 euros per person). Museum ticket is also reasonably priced and you can buy a combo ticket valid for 2 days.Written 26 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - swtraveler15Springfield, MA1,552 contributionsWe found this church to be simply stunning. While it may need repairs, the paintings on the walls and ceilings are just lovely. The history is simply incredible and it is always so amazing to see something this old surviving. In my opinion, this church should not be missed while in GorlitzWritten 1 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TurkomanLondon, UK212 contributionsGorlitz is a stunningly restored Renaissance style city. The Barockhaus and similar around the city are in the process of restoration and many parts of the city are completed . At times it fells like Italy . there is much still to restore but when completed this will be a total must see for visitors to this part of Germany . Its on the German Polish border with easy access into Poland for cheap booze and tobacco!.Written 11 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christophe BLuxembourg City, Luxembourg51 contributionsYou learn a lot of a city by visiting the old graveyoards, where possible. This one is just gorgeous, with really old stones from over 100 years ago. You see rich families buries next to poorer ones and it all has the feeling of decay, you should have in a graveyard. It is a green area and also very relaxing if you just want to sit for a few minutes and readWritten 2 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JohnBrzBaltimore, Maryland118 contributionsConstructed in the 15th century, Heilges Grab is a faithful replica of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem as it looked at that time. It's definitely worth a quick visit just for that reason alone. For others, the setting offers a peaceful place for reflection.Written 28 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jim HEurope3,461 contributionsThe Dicker Turm, also known as the "Thick Tower", is party of the city fortifications. It's the most massive tower of the city. The inscription on the coat of arms says: "INVIA VIRTUTI NULLA EST VIA" - The bravery is no way impossible. - SydneyPerlaSydney539 contributionsIf you would like to escape the city noise just have a stroll along Zwinger and the old town wall. It was peaceful and quiet there and in summer we can imagine it to be a shady place you can relax a bit.Written 23 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
