Fischer & Wieser's Das Peach Haus
#1 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
We happened upon Das Peach Haus on our way to the President Johnson Ranch National Park and we were enchanted by the historic buildings and cute garden in front.
It was nice to enjoy a glass sitting in a swing by the pond, listening to the sounds of nature.
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
#2 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
The other reviews are right - excellent hiking, awesome views - just all around great. Park is kept litter free and it's pretty easy to wander anywhere.
The Vista at the top is breathtaking and for those with a love for science and nature the plants and wild life, including the fairy shrimp, provide endless enjoyment.
Old Tunnel State Park
#3 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
The park ranger's presentation was brilliant -- engaging, informative, just the right amount of detail, humor, and impressive awareness of both listeners and bats.
We love this place and have taken several out of area guests to eat at Alamo Springs Café then see the bats at Old Tunnel State Park - the experience is incredibly unique, and you learn so much about bats as well.
Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park
#4 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
Lady Bird Park is well kept, safe, and a wonderful place to picnic, play tennis, walk your dog, watch birds, host a party and play golf.
The part is also large enough that I can bring my bicycle along and make several loops around the park (which includes a couple of great hills) and can easily log 5 to 10 miles.
Enchanted Rock Fissure
#5 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
The drive to Enchanted Rock is awesome, beautiful views, The park itself is very nice and very popular.
Best yet, plan to camp at the hike-in sites, and have the park to yourself in the early mornings and evenings.
Old Tunnel State Park
#6 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
It is extremely interesting when a park ranger is there and talks about the tunnel and the Mexican Free Til Bats that inhabit the old railroad tunnel.
The park is pretty remote, but a very scenic and peaceful drive thru the hills and watch out for all the deer.
Enchanted Rock Cave
#7 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
We plan to camp at the park at a future time so we can experience the granite dome reflecting the stars and moonlight at night The park and granite dome are very nicely kept up by the park personnel.
Great park and hike to the top of ERock is relatively easy; see lot's of people doing it with kids, elderly, etc.
Loop Trail
#8 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
It's 4 miles, so plan accordingly, but the views are ever-changing as you make your way around the rocks and park.
the loop trail is the longest part in the park.
Cross Mountain Park
#9 of 11 Nature & Parks in Fredericksburg
This is a city park and the trail was well cared for.
There are some park benches at the top if you want to have a rest or just enjoy the views.

Do visit the Pollinator Garden next to the swimming pool and check out their Wings Over The Hills Nature Festival last weekend in April
