Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- David B35 contributionsWe were intrigued by the promotional materials touting Castroville as being a city reflective of Alsatian culture, as well as its proximity to the Hill Country and San Antonio. We were not disappointed. While we learned of certain walking tours of the historic homes, the extremely hot weather prevented our participation.
We stayed at the Hillside Hotel, which overlooks the city and features large rooms appointed with period-style furniture. We were unable to sample the food at the restaurant, but the menu seemed very interesting. On the way out of town, we stopped at Haby’s Alsatian Bakery. Even though it was mid- morning, the place was very busy. The display counter was easily 30’ long and packed with pastries. Our selections were all very good - our only regret was having to choose only a very small sample size.Written 23 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
